You can definately freeze butter - I freeze batches of my HM butter all the time. Don't know about the brie though. Someone should be along soon with an answer.

cheers mate...i did hear from a mate what you said but just wanted to confirm it..thks again...will make small portions..but i already have 7 days meal all frozen in 1 pot...so what can i do now..or do i de-frost it, have 1 days meal and chuck the other 6 days meal....??? i'd hate to do that though seeing how many kids and people are dying without food in world.

I did this with a bolognese, made it for the family and decided I wanted a bit so I tipped it out of the pot frozen and hacked into it with a large knife (bought an electric one with frozen blade for next time) chopped what I wanted off and put the rest in the freezer, should be able to do it with yours.

Thanks for the freezing guides, it's saving me a fortune in thrown out stuff to say the least :) only problem being I could do with a much larger freezer.

Brie can be frozen but I found went a bit iffy when I defrosted it, ripe, uncut Brie may be frozen up to six months
One day I might be more organised...........

Can anyone help me with my question?....I've got cooked pumpkin in my freezer ready to use. Can i defrost and make pumpkin soup then freeze the soup (even though the cooked pumpkin has already been frozen)?
  • Hubbie made meatballs today :j (delicious by the way)

Only he didn't cook them all? So the remainder are left in the fridge - can I freeze them uncooked or do I need to cook them first  as I would have cooked them all and then put them in the freezer!

If the meat hasn`t been frozen already then I`m sure they would be fine to freeze. If it has already been frozen then you should cook them before re-freezing.

OK - might sound a bit dumb but - I made a huge pot of Bolognese up on Thursday night, divided it down into portions and put into the fridge to put the portions into the freezer when they had chilled down. Now I got stuck away from home yesterday and so they are still in the fridge. Am I ok to still freeze them and eat them. They have been refridgerated for 36 hours now? Normally I would freeze them within 24 hours.

    Many thanks.

should be fine. I usually make up a load and freeze on the same day. I suppose the question is - would you eat one of them from the fridge (obviously heated up) if you wanted to today? if you answer yes then fine - freeze them
