I'm aware this is probably a stupid question, but can you freeze rye bread as you would a normal loaf? I bought some for the first time today, which says it needs to be kept in the fridge after opening. Is it ok to freeze? (will be toasting it one slice at a time)

Yes you can if you are making it with suet pastry as all pastry freezes. I think you can also freeze sponge. Just overwrap in the usual way I do mine with greaseproof and then foil and freeze. When you want to use it just defrost and heat as usual. You are making my mouth water yum yum I loved this as a child but Iam afraid the eating plan doesnt allow it very often now.

I've never had a problem with freezing pyrex dishes. For safety I would make sure you thaw the dish thoroughly before re-heating.
