I bought the ingredients to make a carbonara but the supermarket didn't have the size cream I wanted so I bought the next size up. I was going to just use what I wanted and throw the rest until I realised that wasn't very MSE. I guess I have three options. One, make up more sauce than I need using all the cream and freezing what I don't use, two, just use the amount of cream I need and freeze the rest or three, because you can't freeze cream throw it. Can you freeze cream? If I make up the sauce it will have cream, egg, parmesan cheese and panchetta in it. Are the freezing options possible?Did owe £9,951.96

Absolutely ok, as long as it is defrosted in the fridge and thoroughly heated through when reheated it's fine. The big no no is refreezing raw chicken that has previously been frozen.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0

Now that this has fallen of the front page, I'll add it to the Freezing Quick Questions thread.

Hi
Im currently having a discussion with the OH re meat that has been frozen.
Im sure that if its frozen and then cooked you can then safely refreeze it. The OH says once its frozen that you cant.
What is the view of the people that know???0 -
i always freeze raw meat then cook it, then any leftovers get frozen again this is perfectly ok to do...i have however never refrozen cooked meat that i had already defrosted in a cooked state. freezing cooked meat is fine only once from its raw state.proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance!Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat moneyquote from an american indian.0

As angchris says, once you've cooked frozen meat you can then safely freeze it again
I'll add this to the Freezing Quick Questions thread later.
