Quick question..is it ok to freeze rice as I've been told it would go bad0
-
Yes if it has been cooked same day and is thoroughly reheated when defosted. Left over rice is very difficult to keep safely once cool as in rice salad as very nasty food poisening can result.0

Does egg freeze ok? I'm going to be making soup tomorrow using just the yolks and wondered if I could freeze the whites to use later (coconut macaroons spring to mind).
TIATOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
Hi, I have half a tub of mascarpone left over from a recipe last week. am currently making pasta bakes and am wondering if I can put dollops of it in them and freeze them? or just freeze the tub? seems a waste to get rid if I can keep it for longer?0
-
I freeze the odd half tub now and again and I also freeze it within sauces. All without any problem!0

thanks-I just dolloped it on top of the pasta sauce and hoped for the best0

thanks for any advice!0 -
Hello! I've used frozen mascarpone in cooking with no problems.
I'll merge this into the Freezing Quick Questions Thread to keep all the suggestions together.

.........That is home made corned been and potato pie.
I was thinking that I could freee it in slices and defost when needed.
If I can, how would I reheat it:j
Thanks very much...0 -
I do it ll the time, I let it defrost on its own and heat it a little in the oven, meduim heat. You could deforst it while frozen but I would cover it with foil as the pastry will probably burn.Grocery Challenge. £400. - £35.22 + £19.80 + £109.01 = £164.03
Other spends (Clothes Luxuries etc)£11.97 + £1.19 + £7.36 + £69.00 + £38.50 + £5.50 + £23.00 +£2.00 = £158.52:shocked::sad:0
