I posted this elsewhere then discovered this thread! How long do things last in the freezer? I have some bolognese sauce that has probably been in there for about 6 months, can we eat it?0

geekychick - it should be OK. I've dug all kinds of things out of my freezer when they've been a couple of years old and they've been perfectly OK. I'm still using tomato purree made in 2005 from a glut of home grown tomatoes and it's absolutely fine. The worst that can happen with stuff stored long-term in the freezer is that it can get a little frosted but most things are still pefectly edible.0

Can I freeze broccoli & stilton soup?0

billieboy - yes you can. I freeze lots of home made soups and they are all fine when thawed.0

Yes, you can freeze a French stick but they tend to go hard very quickly so I would recommending wrapping tightly with clingfilm and leaving it in the freezer no longer than a week. It will probably not be as pleasant as eating a fresh one but it should still be edible, if a little dry.0

Is it ok to freeze baked beans?
Is it also ok to freeze curry sauce ?
In addition to this - is it ok to use plastic freezer bags for runny stuff like this - as I don't have the space for boxes
Sorry if this has been covered anywhere else but I'm not too sure what is ok to freeze and isn't
many thanks
Cheapest way is to use freezer bags. you can get hundreds of these for next to nothing on a convenient roll.
Always remember; never fill a freezer bag as water expands as it freezes. This means the bag can split and strong flavoured foods will taint the freezer.Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?
