Doughnuts.
Bought some frozen doughnuts today from the co-op. When we worked it out, they cost more than normal unfrozen morrisons ones.
So, can you freeze normal (jam filled, custard filled) doughnuts? If so, how long would you keep them in there for?
Thanks,
MethererNot heavily in debt, but still trying to sort things out.

I've frozen doughnuts in the past, but as to how long they keep I don't know. About as long as bread. But they never last that long. Its great though when Mr T's reduce their bags to 10p late at night.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Hello there, I have done this often and i am still here to tell the tale, does it smell ok? I don't think one night will cause any damage. Just do what you feel is best.

No, it would have been too hot to put straight in the freezer. I always do this, the kitchen is cold as the heating goes off at 10.00 pm until 7.10 am.

I always do this too, I leave the meal to cool down overnight and then fridge or freeze it in the morning.[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!

If it's not been sat next to a blasting radiator, or near a cat with the lid off, then I would think it would be fine. It always needs a few hours to cool off before freezing anyway.

After some advice...
Just been to the market for the weekly shop and I went to my favourite butcher in the meat section to get some beef. He'd sold out of a lot, and had just started reducing the prices. I managed to get a tray of rump steak for $10 (a bit under 5 quid). The meat is fantastic quality, we buy rump from him almost every week. I now feel a little guilty, there are only 2 of us and there must be easily nearly 2kg of steak there. Now, I've got a huge beef and ale casserole planned for some of it, but there are limits to how much I can make! Can I freeze the steak as it is for eating whole (as it were) or will it go tough?
Thanks in advance for any help0 -
It will freeze fine.
Wrap it well and exclude as much air from the bag as you can. You want a freezer bag that appears to be stuck onto the steak.
If anything, freezing is likely to tenderise meat, provided you bag it properly to prevent freezer burn.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Yes, I've bought several steaks at once and frozen them. as long as the meat is good before freezing, then it should be fine once defrosted.
I would individually wrap each piece, makes it easier to defrost a small amountOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0
