An awful lot of these warnings are so that the company producing the product can cover their rears on the offchance that someone makes a curry (or whatever) with the product, leaves half it on a plate on a counter for a week and then gets sick when they reheat and eat it - blaming the company, and not their own silliness.
Once you observe common sense food hygiene, it's perfectly fine to freeze half to use another time. Nom nom nom0 -
They might say it because of the cream, it might split, but i am sure a quick stir would fix it.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0

Can I make leek and potato soup from frozen leeks then freeze them in individual portions for a friend to reheat easily? (I'm thinking of putting 'cupfuls' into small freezer bags.)
She's hoping to get out of hospital soon and doesn't have much of an appetite but I know that she likes leeks and needs to put weight on, so any other ideas would be welcomed. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.

Hi yes you can freeze the soup, no problem at all.
I think it would be better cooked from defrosted rather than from frozen. Only because the extra water from the ice might make it a bit watery.

Thanks Linda32 that's what I was worried about, didn't want to end up tasting awful, especially when it's supposed to encourage her to eat.. I think that a practice run might be a good idea. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
