Hi Willow
I have read about people freezing batter but can't put my finger on a thread right now..... It would also work making pancakes and freezing them. I'm not convinved either way is better . Some people say when making yorkies, the batter is better when frozen first?
let us know what you decide

I have decided to freeze the batter as it isn't going to run the risk of snapping or some such. Will find out if it has been a success in a couple of weeks.0

morning all, have just been trawling thru the cooking for the freezer thread and found a recipe from Queenie
A variation on sausage rolls are sausage spirals using sausages and thin strips of pastry; coil the strips of pastry around the sausage in a spiral. Bake on a baking tray for 25mins (Gas 6 or equivalent). Flash freeze by putting the baking tray into the freezer when the spirals have cooled and when firm, pack in your chosen container. Defrost room temp for about an hour. Can be reheated for 10 - 15mins.
was just wondering if i have already cooked them before freezing can i just defrost and bung them in dd's bento or in a box to take on a picnic without the need for re-heating them..i'm assuming it'll be fine but wondered if the pastry will be soggy iyswim

Hi Slash:j
From the wording I would take it they can be eaten straight from being defrosted. It says they can be reheated - but not that they HAVE to be reheated if that makes sense?
I would try one , and if not a quick reheat should spruce the pastry up.
I'll merge this with the freezing quick questions later
thanks

I'm sure you could freeze it once it was cooked - we always freeze lasagne in portions and it's the same idea really I suppose...0

I wonder if anyone could tell me if it's ok to freeze greek yogurt.
As we live so far from town I only do a shop once a month so would be great if I could freeze a few tubs.
Thanks0 -
Hi Emiliah
I can't see why not. I have frozen natural yoghurt ok - but I am not so sure of the texture after freezing as I use it in cooking.
There is a thread about freezing yoghurt here so you can see others opinions
I have a question. I have a frozen chicken which is 1.7 kilo in size. I need it to be defrostted to cook at around 3 ish tomorrow. What is the best way to defrost it - in water ? In the fridge? Room temp? I did of course search but could only find discussion about chicken breasts as opposed to a full chook. Don't ever really freeze them you see
Thanks in advance
