Absolutely - open freeze them on a tray first then put into bags this stops them clumping together in one big gooey messBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

You could also cook them until they just start to brown, before freezing, so they cook quicker when you need them.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I have got some cauliflower in the freezer, but the bag has split open so it's gone a bit sort of grey-blueish looking in places. Do you think it will be okay? It's got frostbite lol xI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Would I be alright making up a dry coleslaw, ie a mix of cabbage onions and carrots with no mayo, and freezing it and then taking out portions to eat? It would be eaten raw with no mayo or other sauce. I do a similar thing as a base for cooked sauces, just not sure if it would maintain taste and texture.0

Willow - I suspect your dry coleslaw probably wouldnt be very nice because it will inevitable start building up ice crystals and once it thaws out it will no longer be dry but slightly soggy. One of the nice things about a fresh coleslaw is its crisp crunchiness, and that would be lost. Freezing will also make the cut vegetables go limp.0

Thanks Primrose, that was my gut feeling.0
