Hi,
I'm planning a big cook up for the freezer tomorrow. I want to make Alnwick stew in foil takeaway containers and freeze them. For those who've never heard of the dish, it's layers of sliced potatoes, chopped onions and chucks of bacon / gammon cooked in a mustardy stock.
My question is this, should I cook them before I freeze them? Or freeze them uncooked?
Many thanks!

I went to morrisons and all their steak was half price, i do love steak so bulk bought a load for the freezer. they were perfectly red and lucious when they went in but now have gone brown! i only froze them 2 days ago!
are they still ok to eat?
many thanks0 -
Of course they are, the blood has oxidised, absolutely safe to eat
Red & luscious is just eye candy, aged & tasty is brownEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
LOL I also bought a huge steak from Morrisonss when I saw they were half price! Half of it is in the freezer now in fact
would have been a £6 dream steak usually!

Can I freeze Danish pastries? Costco do fab trays of 12 very yummy ones for £2.99 so only 25p each, but I can't eat a full tray before they go stale (Had a good go in the past!)
Would they go soggy?
I can't put them back in the oven afterwards as they are iced already.
Thanks

Yep
and you can freeze krispy cremes successfully- I don't live in london anymore so I buy two huge trays and wrap them individually in cling film when i get home then they go in the freezer!

Hello
Does anyone have any ideas as to whether it would be better to freeze batter (flour/egg/milk) raw or cooked as pancakes? The end result would be pancakes either way, just not sure of the best point at which to freeze.
