Just applied on the phone, 10 mins max, didn't try to sell me anything. I'm transferring two in, one from Egg and one from Halifax. Wish me luck! _pale_

Just a thought-cant you(me as well) instruct your current ISA holder(s) not to accept any transfer to Lloyds/TSB, then we can just transfer to someone else?
  • Hi all

my OH has just successfully completed his transfer from M&S money to Lloyds TSB - took exactly 5 weeks from start to finish

I thought that as well, the poster is advising others "to avoid them at all costs" yet hasnt indicated that he has withdrawn his application.;)

( Other posters have stated that Lloyds are backdating interest, so time taken to open a Fixed Rate account via transfer of existing ISA funds which wont be getting accessed anyway isnt the end of the world. )
  • Mine is now all set up and all transfers have been received (the second and final transfer from NS&I received yesterday 20th March). I'll post my "time line" later today when I can refer to all the dates on the letters, but I applied in the Cambridge branch Sat, 1st of March.

All done, less than 3 weeks.

To be honest I'm a little flustered that my account seems to be taking so long to set up and have its transfer credited (Abbey have already told me it has left them). However, given that they are backdating interest, and its a fixed-for-a-year account where you don't really want to be making a withdrawal, I'm not overly concerned.

Get it right, I advised a poster who has £3,000 to transfer to avoid them at all costs. Are you disagreeing with that advice?

Hi Bristolleedsfan, what a surprise to see you pop up again. How much are you paid to act as a PR guy for the finance industry? For some reason you seem to like to snipe at me (remember your entirely incorrect & frankly ludicrous assertions that I didn't like NR?) It's extremelly tedious therefore I shan't enter into any further discussion with you.

I've edited my post for your benefit. Although I'd like to know who you are to say what is or isn't factually incorrect. Unless you work for Lloyds I'd suggest you don't know what you're talking about.

I stand by every comment I've made about how truly appalling Lloyds service is & I shall continue to post to that effect until they actually do what they're supposed to do.

Feel free to have the last word if you need to, I couldn't care less & won't respond either way.

Hi Cozworth, no never dealt with Lloyds before until now. Nothing would make me happier than to be a satisfied customer.

Chelsea have always been ok with me FWIW, although there's always a first time.
