Regarding the lloyds 6.5% fixed rate,Went in my local branch today, as a new customer,I was Directed to back room, saw the manager,I gave him details of the 2 ISAs I wanted to transfer,he did it all on the Computer,I told him I did'nt want any junk mail,he said no problem, only thing he tried to tell me about was the regular saver at 8%, but as I don't have a current account with lloyds, I told him no thanks.
All in all I think it took about 25mins, the manager was a bit slow on typing at the PC.
I was quite happy with the proccess, having read a few posts on the Forum thought I was going to get the hard sell, but he was very obliging.
Just thought I would give details of my "Lloyds" Experience;)
    Maybe I was lucky:D

It seems like this ISA is being sold as a loss leader. I.e. trying to sell you some of their other (!!!!) products!

What happens if you refuse to provide them with the information that they don't legally require to open the account?

    Why not ask them.

Interestingly they dont tell you what the isa is converted into after a year. Expect it to become a variable rate isa at 3% or something silly. They'll be hoping for inertia to keep their claws on the £9k.

is there a limit of £9000 or can you transfer more in?
    regards,
    john

Fairly certain there's no limit, I transferred in much more than that.

aha, I was on the promo page. Very tempted, though this is just the start of ISA season, so will be interesting to see what else comes out if a bank that's not normally very competitive has an offer as good as this.

I opened mine on wednesday night over the phone and took 10 minutes. Wife did hers last night which took slightly longer as I think the chap was on training. Hopefully get the forms in the post in the next couple of days and pray for a quick transfer process

I asked the chap (seemed new employee) if I would receive the transfer form to sign. He said NO. They would take care everything of the transfer!

He's wrong, you have to sign a transfer form.

I did mine in the branch. My g/f wasn't asked to sign one & they rang the next day and said she had to go back into her branch and sign one.

Both my wife and myself set up a new Fixed Rate ISAs over the phone yesterday and arranged for money to be transferred from our existing Lloyds Mini Cash ISA. Perhaps because we are existing customers, but the young lady said it could all be completed over the phone and their would be no forms to sign.
