I once gave my house keys to my wife when she wouldn't listen to my ideas and concerns and told her I couldn't do it on my own so I was leaving........ she called my bluff by opening the door !!!

She didn't but I thought it might make you chuckle......

    hi,

Just caught up with your post. I just wanted to point out all of the positives really - you haven't yet defaulted and have sought help before you got into serious defaulting trouble. You are here where you can be supported by those in the know and those in a similar position.

Most of all you are trying so hard and eventually this will pay off. Lots of great advice already given - I would just add onto George's post earlier - have you changed mortgages in recent years - can you claim back any mortgage exit fees - often it only take a phonecall.

I would also second using the CCCS (please tell me if I've used the wrong letters I would hate to send anyone in the wrong direction to one of those horrid companies that shaft you) - they would take a lot of the phonecalls and negotiatiing away from you.

    take care

    Hey Sporter,
Did you manage something to eat? Hope so.
Let's see the new SOA then when you have it ready - there's always someone thinks of something that can be changed for the better.
Meawhile if you are still up at this time of night (as I shouldn't be but am) get to bed hun. Things always seem worse at night. Tomorrow is soon enough to do any more worrying, or working on the SOA for that matter; you will think better then, and so will the rest of the debt-busters.

Chickfactor, hugs :grouphug: ... have you started your own thread somewhere? I'm hopeless at finding threads I haven't subscribed to. Maybe your hubby needs to go to his relatives a bit more regularly, and also ask for a bit more from them. It doesn't have to cause them hardship but even another tenner a week would get you half way to solving your problem.

Look after yourselves, both of you, and remember there are lots of people here who will be more than happy to offer support and good advice and point you in the direction of the light at the end of the tunnel.

And now I need to get to bed but I'll check back as soon as I can

Hi Sporter, thought I would drop in and see how you were. As they say on this site "babysteps". Stay with us cos there are LOADS of ideas for cutting back. The Old style thread is a good one to visit and if you have a competitive streak then the challenges are good. I know at times debt can seem to overwhelm your life however it is not the whole of your life so don't forget to have some fun somewhere (even if its just accumulating pennies on daily clicks).
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

    Thanks everyone:grouphug:

Well no, I havent applied for a new credit card as I have found a few "issues" on my credit report. It states an outstanding balance of over £22,000 of debt of what I really owe. I am going to call them today and try to sort this out. I dont understand it.

Also, I spoke to CCCS early this morning (thanks Wol2). They told me to write letters to all creditors with a £1 token cheque. I have an appt with CCCS in 2 weeks time.

If I could do all this without defaulting, trust me I would........will try and see what happens next.

Still sorting out the SOA for you guys to have a look at.

You're sounding much more positive and pro-active sporter, good on you.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

Trying not to feel so depressed at times...........but hey!

Finally got through to Experian and queried the "extra" outstanding debt owed. Apparently, being that my address was duplicated on report, all outstanding creditors have been duplicated also and so the computer shows that my outstanding debt which is "owed" has also duplicated:huh:

They say they will sort this out and by tomorrow the report should be showing the correct figure:T

I am sitting here wondering, whether this is the reason why i had been declined by MBNA previously and also the reason why my credit cards had the limits decreased:question:

Anyway................cant wait to see the Equifax report!!!!
