Changes To StayWarm

Valerie, I know exactly what you mean, ours also has more than doubled, so much for the "Scheme for helping the elderly"!!! nothing but a total rip off. It maybe fine if you live in one room, rarely take a shower, or cook more than a tin of beans. STAYWARM!! its a JOKE
Needless to say I have found another company
You haven't provided any relevant information to support your ridiculous slanders.0 -
Do you have any data to support your FACT? Even anecdotal?0

Surely the doubling of costs is a fact?0

No one is denying the cost of StayWarm will change from one year to the next.
Doubling the charge is not a rip off. To not double the charge (where appropriate) - now that would be a rip off.
StayWarm guarantees how much you will pay one year at a time. It does not mean you can take the proverbial and spoil the commons for everyone. And it has never guaranteed to be cheaper than other tariffs.0 -
Where the basis on which it was assessed changes during the year (ie it was based on two people, but my wife has now passed away), I expected the amount would be reassessed. But I am told that it can't be reassessed till the next annual review in December.
Does anyone know whether that is correct?0 -
I have been with Staywarm for the past 4 years and have been reasonably happy with them even though their prices have gone through the roof. I am now considering changing because it is coming near to the end of my current contract and I am expecting a further large rise due to the cold winter we have had. My payments were fixed last year at just under £118.00 per month. I have used virtually the same amount of fuel this year as last even though we have had a bad winter and will gamble that next winter will be milder. The price comparison websites say that I should be paying about £99,00 per month for the same amount of fuel, Does anyone know how accurate these comparison websites are based on their own experience? Can their figures be relied apon to be accurate?0

My mum (86) has been on Staywarm for years but she's now had a letter saying she would be better changing to Warm Assist (Eon) when her year's up. What advice would you give please?0
