Its time someone reported Staywarm to the regulators. They are 'SUPPOSED' to provide fair prices for the elderly, when in reality all they do is rip people off!
I have received my new billing for the coming year, it has gone up from £69 pm to £100.36
    My anual usage: Gas 18364
    Elec 3550.57

Needless to say I will NOT be staying with them.
At the moment I am torn betweem Ovo and First Energy. Ovo offer fixed price for 12 months, but you are tied in for that time.
First Energy you can leave when you want with no penalties.
I suppose the question is, WILL energy prices go up?
I would really appreciate peoples views as I am in a quandary.

Are you sure that shouldn't be first-utility-logo_TRANS.gif ?

I think I see where you've been. I put my consumption into Energy Helpline.com and lo and behold 1st and 2nd was First Utility and OVO.
Out of the two I would go with OVO because I'm not sure about First Utility. All I can find out about them is that they appear to be a Muslim bank dabbling in other things. I would sooner deal with an out and out energy company. I could be wrong. As for OVO, what do you lose by fixing for 12months?. You only lose if prices drop a lot and I don't see that happening really. The quote for me was almost exactly what I am paying now and that is a fixed rate at Feb 08 prices so I will be looking hard at OVO when my fixed rate ends this time next year. Go for it and you'll be as well off as I am.

Djohn, Once again thank you for your input, I really appreciate your help. Yes I did get it wrong, it should have been First Utility as you pointed out, luckily you understood what I meant!
I agree with you, of the two I think I will opt to go to Ovo...... somehow I don't like the idea of a Muslim bank meddling with my energy supply!!!
No doubt some do good-er will come down on me like a ton of bricks for that remark!! but hey-ho, we still live in a free country..........don't we? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

. I will wait until I get my Staywarm renewal to see exactly just how much they are going to increase my bill. That will be in October. :o

I was surprised to see our price dropped (but not a lot) just now for similar usage figures to last year.

Just been notified that as from 10 dec, my monthly charges will be lower by £4.90 a month. Some people might say, "that's not much" but it's better than the other way.

Any evidence to support your offensive headline and rant? Or do you just enjoy posting nonsense?

I think the majority of Staywarm customers will have had their DD's increased. The basic reason for this is that the Staywarm tariff is starting to lose E-on money. Too many people are taking advantage of it, so E-on are trying to push people off it.

It would be more appropriate to quote Gatita's post. You are supporting me, not providing contrary evidence.

Make the most of what support you get then.
If you look back through this thread, the number of posts that concur with Gatita far outweigh the ones that "agree" with you as you put it.
And as for Gatita posting nonsense, POT and KETTLE springs to mind after your post No 327.

What was nonsensical about my post? Other adjectives may well be applied to it but I see nothing random or incorrect. Why do you say that it is nonsense?
