This is interesting but I will bet that Eon will not extend the offer to Staywarm customers.

Interesting point little owl!Of COURSE they won't offer this to Staywarm customers that have to leave Staywarm as it has become too expensive, a disgusting way of treating the poorer members of our society I believe.
Also I wonder can anyone give me an explanation as to why all the different gas/electricity have up to 20 different tariffs!! I am sure this is done to confuse people

Marketed to the vulnerable and less savvy. More expensive than the cheapest tariffs. Sure sounds like a 'social' tariff to me.

I thought Warmassist was E.On's Social Tariff?
  • Hi Guys, my tarrif with easywarm, went from £57 to £123.84 p/m in just a couple of months, I find it very expensive considering there is only myself and my 13yr old living in the house, my kw usage is
    elect 7682
    gas 38830
thats for the last year, does anyone know if its cheaper to come off this tarrif please.

Are you sure those figures are kWh's????

I live in a creaky old 4 bed house house with 3 blokes and use about 5000 elec and 29000 gas.

Staywarm told me that my electic for last year was classed as high and I only used 4432 kw and my gas usage was ok that was 16619 that is with 2 occupants in a 3 bed semi. Your usage seems massive to me.
  • What I find unhelpful about Staywarm is that you only have to go over the limit for your area with ONE of the utilities and you are classed as a high user My readings were way under for electricity but around 2000 kwh over for gas so they hiked the price from £71 to £107. I do think that if you are under on one there should be some sort of trade off with the other. I do wonder whether dual fuel is a good idea in this case.

I was also told by Staywarm that gas prices are expected to rise considerably over the next year - this is despite the fact that they fell remarkable from July 2008 until now but prices for Staywarm did not come down. So.... heaven knows what will happen next year!

We have also been ripped off by Staywarm, we have paid over £500 and have no way of being reimbursed. We have phoned and made the complaint but to no avail. Get off this energy deficiency rip off market.
  • Hi we have also been made a dissatisfied customer - we have been ripped off, we have lost over £500 and cannot get a reimbursement. Logic is to get out of this energy deficiency rip off scheme.

Its time someone reported Staywarm to the regulators. They are 'SUPPOSED' to provide fair prices for the elderly, when in reality all they do is rip people off!
I have received my new billing for the coming year, it has gone up from £69 pm to £100.36
    My anual usage: Gas 18364
    Elec 3550.57

Needless to say I will NOT be staying with them.
At the moment I am torn betweem Ovo and First Energy. Ovo offer fixed price for 12 months, but you are tied in for that time.
First Energy you can leave when you want with no penalties.
I suppose the question is, WILL energy prices go up?
I would really appreciate peoples views as I am in a quandary.
