Since i have posted this answer to this question on the codes thread, i thought i would post it on here too as Sarah normally deletes the chat out of the codes thread after a period of time.

What you need to do to add codes with an empty basket (or even a half full one) is this.
    • Log in and go into the Groceries home page.
    • You may or may not have items in your basket but if you dont just type something in the search box at the top. I normally type in vodka (cause i like the word). Add it to your basket.
    • Go into checkout - where you will find a number of dates you can book your shopping. (dont forget these dates are only provisionaly booked till you complete your checkout). Select a date.
    • Then you will be bought to the secure checkout page. If you scroll down the page you will see a box where you can put in your promotion code. Then click the box just below it saying 'use code'.
    • At this DONT CONFIRM THE ORDER (unless you genuinely want it but go back the grocery basket at the top.
    Hope this helps a little.

    Thanks to Judi!

    Hi
i used the 1500 points code and it didnt show, just phoned them again and they said it hadnt gone through. I gave them the code again that is showing up in my bank of codes on tesco site and they said to be able to give me the extra 1500 points i would have to give the the 6 digit code beginning with xx. Has anyone got the 6 digit code please
    thanks

    Julie

I think the original 6 digit code will be XX plus the first four digits of whatever code is showing in your bank. Did the code show as accepted when you went to checkout? If not, it is probably because you did not reach the minimum spend

Has anyone managed to use a points code recently i.e. has the -£0.01 shown on your final invoice?

  • Hi,
Im not sure if this has already been posted, but this thread is quite long now!
Anyway, when checking out, tesco were not using my stored codes, so i tried copying one, deleated it from saved codes and then pasted (where you just add one code, on the check out screen) which seems to of worked, no idea why the site would use my saved codes tho

  • Hello new person here. I wanted to thank everybody for the Tesco codes posting on here and ask a quick question.

When receiving a voucher/code from Tesco for money off or for extra points, does it state that that the code is non-transferable?
  • I've always used the money off codes rather than the extra points coupons before, but the money off ones seem to be drying up. I've banked a couple of 1,500 extra points codes, but can't establish their monetary value - is it £15 worth? The Tesco website only says you earn 1 point for every pound spent. I can't see it written anywhere what a point is worth. Can anyone tell me please?
