I haven't experienced the metalic taste, but i went for a test at my gp, got told id have to wait several days for the results and ended up buying a cheap test on my way home lol. I was about a week late when i tested.

    Good luck!

I've had the metallic taste, and dizzy spells, and a nagging mum, and a big swollen tummy, and no period (although am on the pill?)
I think some of it is psychsomatic, I've got a megacraving for a hot dog just now with loads of floppy onions and tomato sauce hmmmmmmmm

I know going to the docs is money saving in a way, but to be honest I don't think there are many GP practices that are happy to do pregnancy tests these days unless you are under x age, or if you go with a problem such as pain and they need to check to be sure if you are pregnant or not.

In this day and age you can buy cheap tests that are reliable. In years gone by yes women had to be tested via a GP practice, this is no longer the case. I honestly don't think imo that people should go to GP's for pregnancy tests unless there is a medical cause for it.

If trying to get pregnant and you want to do lots of tests buy cheap test strips that can work out at pennies a go.

I hope this doesn't upset anyone, I just feel that even though getting a GP to do the test saves your pocket, its only buy pennies, and if everyone did then what. A lot of GP's actually refuse to test without medical reason and do in fact send you off to the chemist to buy a test or get the chemist to do it anyway. Why bother the GP, they won't like it unless their is a medical reason for the test to be done by them.

Trace_567 I don't agree, but each to their own opinion.

In my area-they'll happily take a urine sample and test it, but i doubt if you kept going in each week they'd be impressed lol. Id only ask for one if i was quite sure there was a good chance of being pregnant.

My GP was naff! We are trying for a baby and my periods are usually fab, spot on every fourth Friday. The second but last period I was 11 days late with all negative tests, and no symptoms. I rang him to ask his advice and he told me to come in and see him when next period due if it hadn't already come! I was gutted. But my period came 3 days later anyhow :(

    Good luck for the morning!!!
  • My doctors won't test either- they say tests are so cheap now that going to them just to find out is wasting NHS resources.

I did the test at 5.30am this morning. It was negative, but I think I weed over the entire thing, including the bit where the two lines are, so not sure if that would make a difference (sorry, if that's too much information, but I'm not very awake in the mornings).

I don't know, but I'm not that disappointed, not because I'm not pregnant, but because I still think there is a possibility that I am, if that makes sense. Lots of people on here say that they have had loads of negative tests when they are in fact preggers, so not to worry.

On the other hand, I have just read the post above where someone was 11 days late and then it came 3 days after that. So it could just be one of those things, esp as I've only been off the pill 3 months, and mightn't have regular thingamibobbies yet.

Good luck to anyone else awaiting results!
