Pregnant?

I took a cheap Boots test on Friday and it was negative, but I may not have waited long enough.

I am now on day 34 (not too sure of cycle, but last one was 30 days) and I have a funny metally taste in my mouth. I'm not sure if I'm making up symptoms though iyswim. Would this be a symptom so early on? I don't have any other sympoms as such.

I do have one more test at home, but it hours before I can get home and I don't want to keep wasting them.

Are you cycle very sporadic or are the rougly the same each month?

A metallic taste in the mouth can be an early sign of pregnancy but i would suggest siting tight for a day or two then do another test, if you haven't had a visit. I know this is easier said than done. I did about 5 tests in 3 day with my DD. 4 of those came back negative but the 5 was positive. She is nearly 2 know.

I also tried the expensive ones that give you result 4 days early but they also came up negative.

Good luck and hope that the next time you do a test it is the answer that you hope it be.

Thanks a lot for that. My bf said to wait till Wed so I don't waste it. I just got too impatient with the last test!

I've only had 2 periods since I came off the pill and I was on a type where I stopped having them altogether, so not sure of cycle.

    Hi,

I'd wait a few more days if you can - I know it's really difficult, but it gives your body more time to build those hormones (HCG, which is produced by the foetus soon after conception) that the tests pick up. You can get a false negative, but can never get a false positive. A pregnancy with a girl tends to give a higher reading earlier, so that's why some people can get a positive result very early on, and it can also mean they suffer more from morning sickness.

The cheap tests are just the same as the well-known expensive brand tests. The only other thing you could do would be to go to your Drs. where they'll do a test for free. I had this a year or so ago when I was having problems with my contraception, and they did the test while I waited during a visit to the GP.

I didn't suffer any side effects when I was first pregnant with any of my 4 boys, until with 2 of them I had a sharp pain in my 'woosie' that I thought odd, and I did feel a bit under the weather with baby no.3, but I had no idea I was pregnant until I did the tests, by which time I was actually close to 7 weeks gone! I was always too busy to remember when my period was due, and they had a tendency to be irregular anyway.

Let us know when you do the next one won't you?!!

Gosh, to try and get an appointment at the doctor! Plus, I have to work, so I'll just hang on a few more days.

    Thanks though!
