Hi, I have been following this thread and just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am now 10 weeks and the novelty has now passed, I just feel sick.... but very happy. We told my mum and dad about week 8 because I had extreme sickness and had to have an emergency scan and they would have worried too much otherwise. Hope everything goes well for you, good luck!!!

This seems an appropriate thread for my question.

The missus has made an appointment to see the GP a week after doing a test.

She keeps telling me I need to go to Boots and buy a pot for her to take in a urine sample

Is she correct? sounds a bit weird to me :undecided

If they do need a sample from her, they'll usually give her something there and then to go and do it in, then she can pop into their loos and then hand it over (this way they know it's her sample, so my doctors surgery says!).

Thanks, I told her just to drink some water before going so I'll just repeat that and point out to her Iwas right the first time. :o

TBH you normally find that the doctor doesn't actually check that you are pregnant just assumes that if you have done a pregnancy test then you are pregnant.

Congratulation to you and the 'missus'

If they did want a urine sample then they would have some supplied.

Arrggh, my mum found out yesterday cos bf's brother rang us to tell us his gf is due 5 days after me! And mum and dad were with us and I couldn't keep my mouth shut!!

My parents were delighted. Mum said she guessed anyway cos I hadn't mentioned my monthly pain to her (only have had 2 periods in 5 years due to pill, so managed to go on about it quite a bit in January!:o ). She said she had mother's intuition. Heehee.
