Yayyyy! Just saw my mum and she gave me a letter (some stuff still goes there even though i was only there for a while in 2007) and it had a cheque for £21.01 from Lloyds - presumably something to do with my hally shares from years ago. That's another bit of my July OP.

    Ladies
Do remember your OH is also away and on his own. However, as I do travel away a bit now (not the 25% of the year I used too) I know it is not easy for you left at home who then want time away, whereas OH is happy to just be home as he's been away...

Whatever the duration, look on it as a chance to make time for your own things, maybe food you prefer for example (my OH and DD eat fish and pasta dishes when I'm away as I don't like them). So hopefully you can see some positives for you too.

Yeah the positive is that I get some peace and quiet! lol I'll miss him really.
  • I have to say I'm always surprised at the money saved on food when my OH is away... not that he's a greedy so and so, just that he's very tall and very active both at work and in his free time! Takes me a few days to get used to get used to cooking much smaller amounts so the freezer gets restocked by accident at first.
    MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.

yeah - mine's the same! tall, active and hollow legs!

my op for this month has gone up by £110 as my mum put said amount into my mortgage account today! she offloads a little bit each year so the tax man doesn't get it in inheritance tax. nice and unexpected, and because she paid it into the account, the troll bead temptation never got a chance!
