    Hi all,

OP'd £501.02 yesterday on mass overpayment day. It's brought my remaining mortgage down to under £11k which feels great, because that means that sub £10k is just a couple of months away!

However, we have a a couple of potentially expensive months coming up - DH is going to learn to drive, so we need to addhim to the car insurance, and he may also need to make another trip home so a potential flight to pay for. He's job hunting now, but with the climate as it is I'm not holdong my breath.

Mind you - as soon as he gets one, the OP's will rocket!

Enjoy the tennis if you're watching it - i'll be opting for the tour de france at 2.30 - prefer men in lycra to federer! Hope Roddick wins!

good news today - DH passed the exams he went back for in may/june. that means he has to go back for a couple of retakes in sept and if he gets those he has his degree. that will be a real achievement. means he's going away again though!

he's trying to find a job now - not easy in the current climate, but has had an interview which was good experience even though he didn't get the job.

as far as the op's are concerned, i'm going to regroup after we come back from our holiday in august. i'm 85% of the way to my 2009 target so will try to go beyond it if i can. have started doing surveys again while it's the holidays, but feeling a little frustrated that i can't go faster with the op's. problem is with only me earning i have to be prepared for any eventuality, and they aren't just my eventualities!

need to get the mind focussed!

Best wishes to your OH with the remaining exams and getting a job; can he do anything voluntary in the meantime to get some relevant experience etc to show employers?

    Enjoy your holiday.

thanks stuart, and yes, he's doing just that - he's volunteering on a community project which is great and will give him a reference as well as experience.:o

Going in to the hally today to pay £300 which means I am over (just) my target for the year! Total £2004.39. Yayyyy! :j

Now aiming to make up the £334 I didn't make last year, then i'll decide how much i'm going to try for til the end of the year......may go for another £1000 but don't know how realistic that is!

    We'll see......am very motivated!

  • Leaps and bounds! :T Seriously, you're so far infront of "making good progress" there's no phrase to describe it. Don't say it's sad... I'm excited for you for when you see one less digit on the amount left to pay... does that make me sad too? I think not!
