Been and done all the mortgage paperwork and now we just have to sit tight and wait for things to start happening.
Am wondering what I should stress about.

There is no hope for me.
I have just spent the last half hour playing with mortgage calculators.
I will be thinking of overpaying a minimum of £500 a month which will save almost £8000 in interest over the lifetime of the mortgage and knock almost 5 years off.
I will have to sell the idea to Mr C if we a going to pay off any more than that as he seems to think we need a life too! Haha!
I am itching to get going now. Oh, how I have missed all this obsessing!

Nothing has happened today. I need something to happen towards the move or I get restless!
Mr C is always telling me I'm too impatient!

Received the valuation thingy from the mortgage company yesterday. seems the house is worth what we are paying and the cracks are not going anywhere.
Also a whole load of stuff from the solicitor. We have decide whether to be joint owners or tenants in common. I'm paying the deposit and we are sharing the mortgage so tenants in common makes most sense. However, in the event of Mr C dying I don't think I would be able to afford to buy his kids out. I die no problem - I'll leave it to him as I have no other responsibilities. Such a difficult thing to talk about. I obviously do not wish to prevent his kids from having what's due to them, but the thought of being forced to move in that awful eventuality is quite daunting.
I have never been financially embroiled with anyone else before. It's a bit scary.

  • will be making sure it's a decent amount i put in every time now!!!!!!
  • Slowly disappearing under a pile of paperwork all house-related. So many things to read and check and then sign and it's all so BORING!
Mr C home tomorrow night so I hope he finds it all more interesting than me.
Have an appointment to see the solicitor next Friday so hopefully we will get a bit of a clue of the timescale. Really hope it will be before Christmas. Start 2012 in a new house. How great is that?
