Spoke to the agent again today. They still feel optimistic that it can happen for Christmas. Feeling very flat because I can't actually do anything at the moment.
Off to Cornwall tomorrow for Mr C's Christmas do. Will be nice to think about something else.
Dodgy tenant said she'd go but hasn't. Need a nice weekend!

Well no reports for over a week because..........nothing to report! This is getting beyond frustrating. I have no idea what is holding it all up and nobody is returning my calls.
I'm guessing we won't be moving before Christmas which doesn't bother me particularly but might bother my purchaser and my vendor. I have done everything I can but am slowly giving up now.
Spent yesterday in bed with some nasty achy cold and feel like spending today there too. Mr C has gone to reclaim his house, which he has managed to do but it's a right mess apparently. That girl really did take the p***! She had the place for a song and basically wrecked it!
Anyway we have it back now and he'll sort it today as best he can and get it on the market.
Lovely fresh cold day here in Gloucestershire - blue sky and frost. Love it (from under my duvet!)

Happy new year everyone!
Feeling duly tanned and refreshed after a lovely Christmas on a cruise and a day at the races yesterday (lost!!!). Had a great couple of weeks all in all, but still haven't exchanged contracts. Hoping to do that tomorrow and move house on Jan 10th which will be my 51st birthday.
Mr C has put his house on the market and is still putting money in le cochon.
Hopefully will be starting new diary in a week's time.
Hope all well in MFW land.

Yay, that's great news Poppy and good to hear you sounding so refreshed and positive compared to your pre-Christmas posts. I've always quite fancied a cruise myself and sounds like you would recommend it.
Not long now then to the house move, are you all organised?
Regards

Organised - errrr no! I work better under pressure though, so I'm doing a bit each day. We have next weekend to start getting serious!
The cruise - yes we enjoyed it. Not sure I'd do it in place of a summer holiday but it was great for Christmas and I think we'll do it again.
Back to work tomorrow - Mr C leaving at around 5.00 am so early night tonight methinks!

Grrrrrrr. Not got a good feeling about this. My purchasers tried to exchange contracts today without the deposit. if we manage to exchange this week we are now looking at January 20th to complete. I will believe it when it happens. Grrrrrrrr.

Do they not have a solicitor?

Apparently they do, but not a very good one it would seem!

This seems to be going from bad to worse - the buyer apparently tried to transfer the deposit money yesterday to her solicitor, but in fact couldn't because she didn't have a bank card. I am seriously beginning to wonder if she has the money. It will now be several days before I know as she has been told to do an Internet transfer which will take 3-5 working days to get there.
And she was pushing for this to happen before Christmas????2010 MFW Challenge No. 112 Mortgage paid in full 27/08/10 I was MF!!!

Hopefully just a little longer to wait then (but still very annoying)
Her solicitor seems to be useless
