Well, the moules were delish and I got a whole heap of work done so feel like I go off tomorrow guilt free.
Mr C should get down here this evening and then we leave at ridiculous o'clock in the morning to get to Brum airport.
Mr C has booked a nice lounge there (as we will be hours early - both get jittery about missing planes it seems!).
Everything for the trip bought except journey sweeties so will wander down to Sainsbury's in a bit and get them with my Nectar points. :)
Then need to take Leo to the cattery - mad place with aviaries to entertain the cats and a chipmunk run and water feature in front of their pens! Seems home will be boring after a week there!
And then breathe - a whole week on the beach with a cocktail in one hand and a book in the other and Mr C for company. :D
    See you all later! xxxx

Well back off hols - got an extra day in the end as the flight was delayed for 25 hours 25 minutes - we got to stay in the same hotel but in an upgraded room for the extra night which was nice.
The whole week was fab - Mr C and I got on really well - where I would normally read a book a day on holiday, I only read two in the 8 days.
The hotel was fabulous - very all inclusive with a la carte restaurants and very personal service. Will certainly be going back.
Dunno if it works to post an FB link but here's trying!

Now to start saving for the next one! Mr C and I have both put £400 aside already for May! The plan is save £400 a month each for holidays.
Looks like the weather here was pretty awesome while we were away too. Need to try and keep the tan topped uo now!

Been paid. Hopefully will have chance to move £500 across to the ISA today so on target. Bit of a heavy CC bill this month, but there may be a bit more spare to go in to later in May.
Taking lunch to work still thus avoiding spending on bacon and egg baps.
Will be looking for other small savings too.
Mr C coming here tonight then going up to his tomorrow morning until Saturday night, then both back down here for the Bank Holiday.
Have a stinking cold......should've stayed in the sun!

Been to the bank and now £900 in the holiday fund (£400 each + left over spending money from previous holiday!)
Also transferred £510.26 into my ISA (£500 planned plus £10.26 surplus on the month!)
Mr C here for the long weekend. Really enjoying a few days at home with him.
    :)
    Hope all well!

    Weekend again! Phew!
haven't done that much moneysaving this week tbh - in fact went to the races wednesday night and ended up £17 down. oops - careless. apparently i need a better strategy than choosing the horse who has the nicest name, or the jockey who's wearing the nicest jockey suit.
mr c at home this weekend - coming on sunday night as i'm nearer to where he's working all week atm. hitting the garden centre with my mum tomorrow which will mean spending some money but what the heck. i'm sure my blueberry bush will save me thousands in the future if i put it in a decent pot so we'll call it a long term strategy.
the isa is pretty much on target and we are going to go camping in sw france in the summer to keep within the holiday budget (even though we want to go back to mexico!).
not a lot else to report - must do better on moneysaving next week to add some little extras to the isa - actually have £7 in vouchers from M&S so that can go in in cash and I'll get some M&S food for next week - the veggie samosas do me nicely for lunch and at £1.25 are pretty good value.
hope all is well with everyone.ttfn po xxx

Hoping my food shop will be free today - I have £21 ish in nectar points and the aforementioned £7 in M&S vouchers. I can easily bring it in at less than £28 so that's a definite amount to go into the ISA. I will also put in any savings from BOGOF or other offers - as they usually don't 'go' anywhere, I think I should otherwise it just gets sucked into general money.
I have seen a house I might be interested in - it's a doer-upper but on for £215k. I reckon it might come for £200k and I'd probably get around £210k for mine. If I got a £50k mortgage (I could OP like mad) that would mean I had the money for the work I would want to do. I think for that I could extend and modernise. The best part is it has a big (by today's standards) garden which is south-facing and would be great for vegetables (think it would have to be raised beds because is thick clay around here). Just can't decide what to do - the thought of going through selling this whilst wanting that etc etc is quite daunting. Don't know whether I'd be better off just putting this on the market then looking once it's sold, or renting for a while might be an option. Or I suppose I could mortgage this on a buy to let? Any thoughts?
My water bill came yesterday too - seems I've ben overpaying and they owe me £60 (which it seems I'm going to have to ask for as they haven't reduced my monthly payments or said that they'll send it! Grrrrrr!!!) so I'll get onto that tomorrow.
    Have a lovely Sunday everyone!
