My insurance is due for renewal with Admiral next month and given the results of Martin's advice it seems it's quite a sensible quote - using First Direct's "£30 lower than your renewal quote" offer was the best saving for me. £30.05 to be exact. Some compensation for the mind-numbing online form filling I guess...
I'll give Admiral the chance to beat this when I phone to cancel. (Using the geographical number found on saynoto0870.com of course)
When I called to cancel with Admiral and mentioned First Direct's £30 off deal they took £30.20 off their original renewal quote.
I got straight through on the alternative number on saynoto0870 (02920 633514) but apparently it wasn't the renewals line so that one back-fired. When I called the 0870 number I got exactly the same menu options followed by 5+ minutes of Jamie Cullum or similar Jazz-lite crooning until I could speak to someone. :mad:0 -
Apologies if this has already been discussed but has anyone used BULLSEYE for car insurance (part of Swinton)? Look like a newish company and they seem the most reasonable compared to everyone else and I can't find anything untoward in the policy docs. Thanks in advance!0

Go to https://www.barclays.co.uk and click on car insurance. They are offering to beat your renewal quote AND give you £50 when you switch. My renewal with Hastings was only £255 which is good for a 25 yr old with an expensive Mini! - went to Barclays. They offered to beat it. £254 and then refund £50 for swtching.. This years insurance only £204!! Cheaper than my DAD!!
I also did this last year for contents insurance - my renewal from Direct line was only £60!! - contacted barclays. They beat the price £59 - then refunded £50! - whole year of contents cover for £9!! - I LOVE BARCLAYS XXMortgage Free Wannabe - :j £117,358,000 - updated 08/09/2016Car Loan @ 0% £2,500 updated 08/09/2016TOTAL DEBT £119,858 :eek:0 -

Hi - Both companies are part of MMA Insurance which is large and long established. The actual underwriter is Gateway Insurance which is registered in Gibraltar but is still part of MMA Insurance.
Hope this helps0 -

How much?? Was everything the same, exactly the same cover? if Barclays are within £100 they will price match.Mortgage Free Wannabe - :j £117,358,000 - updated 08/09/2016Car Loan @ 0% £2,500 updated 08/09/2016TOTAL DEBT £119,858 :eek:0 -
My car insurance is due in June, I've had a renewel reminder from esure £256, done the stuff on Money supermarket & confused. Cheapest actual quote was from Kwik-Fit £166, 2nd Yes insurance £197, 3rd Pru.
Then decided if I can get anything off from "Quidco" cashback site, I was amazed. Kwik-Fit were offering £42.50 cashback, Yes £45 cashback and astonishingly the Pru come up trumps with a whopping £100 cashback. That'll make my final insurance bill for this year £117, that's £139 off my renewel quote!!!
Just out of interest I had a look to see if Esure were doing any cashback offers, they do they were offering 2500 Rpoints (£25). I think I'll be insuring my car with the Pru this year.0 -

Yes everything was the same. The reason for the high premium is because this is a second car with me being named as main driver and I can't carry over my no claims discount from the other car - have to start at 0% no claims again which is a pain but it's still cheaper than having my 20yr old daughter named as the main driver on the first car! Hastings are quoting me £435 fully comp on Peugeot 207 as opposed to Barclays who were coming in at over £600!0 -

I used Martin's advice that a new policy from the same company may be better than renewal, and it was! I am with direct line, they wanted £302 to renew my quote.
I applied for a new policy with them and the quote was £282, plus, quidco gave me £100 cash back, hence the total cost is £182, with 0% direct debit. All I have to do is to remember to cancel my direct debit after month 10, so that it does not automatically renew.0
