  • Thanks 4 Petes Sake,

I had a suspicion that this might be the case, however I might give it a go as the insurance is not due until 29th March. Other option is SAGA but try to get their excess figure down to £100.00, it's still pretty cheap.

I guess if the P.O. will not give you the cashback this year then you can always go back to them next year to get it. As you found my earlier post helpful, could you oblige by clicking on the "Thanks".:D

Last year I did an online search through Confused.com and received a very good quote from the Post Office which after the £50.00 cashback meant that I paid £112.00 for fully comp cover on a 1.6 Fusion. This year I did a search with Moneysupermarket and received a quote from the Post Office again for around £117.00 after the cash back of £50.00 which again is a great quote. However, when I received my renewal quote from the Post Office they want £182.46 which is a big increase Does anybody know if I accept the quote from Moneysupermarket will I still get the £50.00 cashback deal? Alternative is SAGA who quoted around £130 but with a £350.00 excess, the Post Office was only £100.00 excess.

    Thanks

My sons renewal is due on the 7th April 2007, i am a named driver on this policy, he paid approx £1500 last year to Admiral Insurance for a 10month bonus accelerator policy, to date he has had 2 non fault accidents, i have just rang Admiral and asked them for a renewal based on the fact that we have had no claims made against them, i was astounded when i was quoated, wait for it.....................£2800   , i questioned this and was told that they take into account non fault claims, apparently its based on some statistics that if you've had 2 non fault accidents you are more than likely to have a third, what utter bollox, considering none of the claims made were any of our fault with the third party taking 100% of the blame, to me this is just a huge con and he has been punished instead of receiving a reduction in his policy..........mad as hell i am......

    Well.

having spent ages online and comparing LOADS of quotes, Swintons came out the best for my Daughter (Approx £500 TPF - First policy & NO no claims).

Then rang a local broker and they offered me a deal £4 dearer but chucked in the Legal protection.
PLUS, any problems and any alterations to the olicy will be dealt with, there & then and by an English speaking person.

    After all that.

Don't give up on the local intermediary.

Can understand how you feel and perhaps this is why Admiral are a very profitable company.Suggest you try https://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk.They may not accept the NCD but from experience they should not load for non fault accidents.

Was with NUnion until son had the misfortune to pass his driving test this week. They wanted £750 for the remaining 4 months, for me to add him to our policy to allow him to drive our car (10 yr old car)

Took a lot of searching despite Martins help because many companies wont touch 17yr olds. Eventually found the Liverpool Victoria was the most reasonable. Got an extra £120 off after a bit of haggling too.

I was upset that existing insurance company treat you totally different just because you have a teenager. We are all treated like they are all delinquents (who would never have insirance anyway).

Just had my renewal through from NU and my premium had risen from £550 to £930 (I did make a claim last year). Called them to complain and they told me that my postcode had been 'upgraded' (I live in the sticks in Suffolk). I told them that I'd shop around and then they offered to put me through to the RAC for a quote (also owned by AXA) - got a quote of £600 for the renewal.
  • I've been looking into my car insurance and have got a great deal from a high street broker that none of the online guys can beat. The nearest I have found is the pru (through Quidco) which is £10 more expensive, has a higher excess and no legal. The only reason I'm concidering them is the £130 cashback deal.
How likely am I to get this?
    How easy is it?
Is it too good to be true?

Any responces would be greatfully recieved!

I used www.moneysupermarket.com really to check that my renewal was a good price and because the medical questions are not detailed enough i only use it more for an indication of which insurers were cheaper this year.

I ALWAYS TELEPHONE and invariably they will price match their internet prices (or you can always go back to the internet if they dont anyway).

After ringing round all the premiums went up slightly on the search engines prices and I thought I would leave Churchill :naughty: till last as they were offering to beat any renewal price (even though their online quote was +£100) but when I rang them and they offered me £1 less. I hung up (not even worth the effort).

Reluctantly I rang my insurance co. (Norwich Union Direct) and managed to secure a £20 discount and then after a few uneasy silences to add a bit of pressure (they want you off as quickly as possible) the call centre lady threw in £25 of high street vouchers. I immediately signed back up.... :money:
