I've just gone through Quidco to get an AA car insurance quote. When I get to the end though, there's no option to actually buy the insurance (which, amazingly, is actually what I'd like to do). I can see all the gubbins about how secure their site is and a message about phoning them for the absolute best price, but no "buy" button. It's the same in both IE and Firefox.
What I want to know is, has anyone else encountered this and, if I have to ring up to complete the final stage, will Quidco still give me my money?
Thanks0 -

Have joined 'Quidco'? Did you click from the quidco website referral link to the AA site? The cashback is paid after 1year's membership with Quidco.0 -
Just managed to get my broker to match a deal I found through MoneySupermarket for fully comp car insurance. It took the deal they had offered from £358 to £260 - not bad!Sweetrevenge

More than who?
Like I mentioned abover 'Swiftcover' allows screenscrapers therefore may not always produce the best price avaliable to you. M&S, Budget and even Debenhams may beat your existing renewal price - have you had a quote from these?
After trying the comparison sites, try the ones that didn't generate a premium, also have a look at the 'finance' section of quidco to check any insurers here or read the forums on car insurance, Gemmzie tip for the Pru worked out better for me but rating tables and point ratings vary dramatically across insurers so a bit of work is required to find that best price.0 -

More than my present insurer.
The cheapest I have found so far is NU Simple at £287.49 for my Multipla. I only have 1 NCB as we had to claim on another car.** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -

Have you got a quote from quinn-direct.com ?0 -
Just thought i'd say (as I have on the threads started by me) many thanks for all your thoughts and help.
Insurance is now done and paid for (with less than 5 hours to spare!)
Going via this website and obeying its commands of who to see and what to do has saved me £59 on my renewal price with the same company I am currently with.
I considered what I needed from my insurer and incentives for staying with them....and they won....but so did I too!
(actually it was the RAC but as that is now owned by NU 'tis the same thing!)

So two things:
Firstly...
The Pru website cannot be 'scraped' by robots as it has one those 'Security 6-digit code' images where only human entry can proceed.
Secondly...
Quidco have a note for the Pru cashback stating 'Although the vast majority of transactions are tracked successfully, the network currently responsible for this merchant has decided to only pay 50% for any successful enquiries on missing transactions. We have expressed our dissatisfaction to the network and are doing everything we can to improve this situation.'
So that's £50 cashback (well £45 (one of £5 a year admin fee out of your cashback)), but the Pru car insurance quote beat my 'Swiftcover' renewal by £30!
Thanks Gemmzie for the tip.

Quidco has tracked at £100 and I don't think Quidco really counts as a "robot" site as it is a referrerNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
thanks for the tips. my sons renewal quote was £1900  I checked confused & moneysupermarket and found his current provider was still the cheapest and the estimated price was considerably cheaper than requote. I applied as a new customer and was quoted £1140. not a bad saving for a few minutes work :j0
