Someone told me that quinn insurance is ok for young drivers you could get a quote anyway. They have been in Ireland for years but set up in uk a year or two ago. I don't know how they are when it really matters though in the event of an accident
My daughter had a quote from Sheilas wheels they were a couple of hundred more than her present insurance. These insurance quotes vary so much between peopleThanx

A friend of a friend used her mum's insurance policy with no claims bonus and reduced the price substantially.
I thought this was not allowed but have read that if the insurance company are truthfully told whether the young driver really is a second driver or a main driver, it is still allowed and will still save money.
Another thing that works apparently is putting another named driver who is a women on a young man's insurance will also help. I read it all on this site:

It really works!!!!
I got my £100 cashback from Quidco in my bank account today, hooray. It was good enough that Prudential were £100 cheaper than my renewal quote, but I really wasn't sure how well the transaction through Quidco would work. But it did! So pleased I did my husbands too and received another £100 for his insurance too. Thanks MSE0 -
Does anyone have anymore feedback on the Quidco/Pru deal?0

My car insurance is due for renewal tomorrow.
Yesterday I shopped round for insurance. My renewal quote with Elephant was £236. I checked on Quidco to see what I could get through them.
Shelias wheels offer £70 to those who purchase via Quidco. Although their quote was £10 dearer than my renewal quote with the £70 back it effectivly was £60 cheaper.
Really chuffed!
Edited to add - Checked 15 mins later and it had been trackedIt's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -

Hi there
Used your 4 step plan to get my insurance down from the renewal price of £411 to £320 with Budget. Then something reminded me of those 'funny' ads for a new insurance company called Sheila's Wheels and none of the comparison sites had shown a quote from this company. So doing my due diligence went on to the site direct and amazingly got a quote for £249!!! I am 41, drive a Peugeot 206CC, have 6 points from two years ago and I am the sole driver of the car - if that isn't a bargain I dont know what is!! As you can imagine I ceased the moment and bought the insurance, definately worth a visit. Thanks again Martin for your sound advice, this is my first ever post but felt complelled to tell my story!0 -
Thanks, the Prudential Car Insurance is amazing! They quoted me £250 for my 1 litre car with my parents & boyfriend added on (£20 more expensive than elephant). With £100 cashback it's a steal!0

My husband has a Nissan Navara Outlaw (one of those pick-up style trucks that are getting really popular). Just got his renewal from Direct Line so I decided to shop around for a cheaper quote, but I'm really disappointed because I tried to enter the car details on both Insuresupermarket.com and Confused.com and neither of the sites recognised the vehicle. When you select NISSAN as the car make, the list of options does not include the Navara! Its not that new, the model has been out a few years, I can only assume they do not cover this type of vehicle?
Anybody else got a pick-up truck and can give me advice on where best to insure?
Many thanks
Leanne0
