Absolutely:j Thank you, I am really making the most of him, he is just the cutest. Walking at 11 months and as strong as an ox! and with a will to match but a lovely natured child. I am so tired at the end of the day:o

Hoping to check out the op shops/charity shops sometime, see what they have to offer, I might have room in my case on the way back now that the million presents for baby have been unloaded;)

Good to be able to keep in touch even if it is bed time.
Op shops I love that term!
Hope that you find some treasure.

I'm using up all the bits of wool I've got lying around to make throws. Found quite a bit of red wool, not enough to knit me a jumper. I have decided to knit some cushion covers to go with the seaside theme for my sitting room.
You'll have to show us some photos.A seaside sitting room sounds very summery!

Pen why don't you sell the ones you no longer want I'm sure they'd go on ebay or one of those lovely shops that stock all kinds of nice things. You're very talented.

As its a door it's quite heavy so postage would be a problem! Havn't thought about selling to be honest.

Here is another piccy. It is the doors of a dresser we had in our old kitchen (no room again now!)It was an old '40's sideboard, my friend gave me a top from something else which fitted perfectly so made a sort of dresser. The top had 2 smaller doors which had a smaller version of the hens. (havnt got a photo of this as its dismantled in the shed)

Your seaside sitting room sounds intresting......do you live near the sea?
I like the sound of knitted cushions. I saw one in a shop that across the front of the cushion was a piece of material and the middle bit was caught up so it looked like a pretend bow (if you see what I mean)it was very effective.

Question: can i paint indoor wooden chairs with outdoor paint and then use the chairs outdoors?
I'm thinking of painting old wooden chairs baby blue and then using them as garden chairs.

ETA: i've just been browsing the 200 odd pages of this thread and I'm so inspired! I'm off to the junk shop first thing in the morning! Even DH is getting enthusiastic about the whole shabby chic thing!

I dont see why you couldnt paint chairs with outdoor paint. I painted a bench with ordinary inside gloss but its not wearing at all well.
This thread has inspired me as well, its great all the projects people have done. I think the junk shops are going to wonder whats hit them as the Shabby Chic-cers descend like a plague of locusts:D
