They look lovely and I love your bed.

Thank you the bed was from ebay its a french louis the something we paid about 350 quid for it and that includes the !!!!ionoire (sp) basically the bedside cabinet which has marble on top. We thought it was quite an investment as ikea ones are nearly just as much and they depreciate in value whereas this is an antique and will hopefully appreciate.

I hadn't painted for so long till this thread came along I'd forgotten loads of things I used to do.

    This is useful.

I can't seem to log in to the new forum either. I've registered but it won't let me view the posts, I've emailed the administrator and heard nothing. I'm really missing my shabby-chic 'fix'. This thread has definitely slowed right down now......

Maypole have a fab holiday - must be great to have grandchildren ,all the fun but you can hand them back:rotfl:

Well done to all of you who have posted projects, they all look great:T

Having made the decision to paint the two bedside cabinate/drawers I looked in my John Lewis catalogue. They have a range of painted furniture - ivory coloured and they say 'laquered' to make them hard wearing.

Now, here's the thing - is laquer the same as varnish?

Bye the way, the range in the catalogue is lovely and looks just like the items done by the shabby chicers on this thread.

Got a good charity shop bargain today - two Cath Kidston tea towels, brand new, 99p :)
I don't really need any new tea towels at the moment, so I might use the fabric to make something else - I was thinking of a tea cosy but I'm still getting to grips with the sewing machine, and don't want to overstretch myself! Has anyone else made a tea cosy before?

What a lucky girl you are! I bet the ladies who price things don't know who Cath Kidston is. ;)

I'm sure I've seen a chair seat cover made from a CK tea towel. They also make good bags. Even two different patterns. The handles can be made from that thick tape stuff that they make handles of - how's that for clarity?

Bye the way - this in the link to Emma Bridgewater - who? Well I just googled things to make from tea towels and got to her.

Some time ago, someone posted a request for ideas to transform a chipboard table (I can't find it now but I'm probably not looking properly :( ) Anyway, I wondered whether the lady got any replies? I've got a similar table and all I've ever thought to do with it was to cover it with a long tablecloth!! Hope you've all had/having a great weekend.
