I LUUURVE Emma Bridgewater stuff. I have a few bits of the "black toast" set (think that's what it's called) and it's lush!

Bibbitybob, you are so talented. The chair looks great.

I have spent the morning "thrifting" and found nothing.
I did get a large book of all the Redoute roses which I thought I could cut up and frame cos I love these prints and they are soooo expensive. That came from TK Maxx. :j

Someone here mentioned a book on French style housekeeping a while back; I think it was something to do with French grandmothers?????? Can anybody remember what it was called?
  • I think you might mean "A well kept home" by Laura Fronty - it's subtitled Household Traditions and Simple Secrets from a French Grandmother. It's a beautiful book and has lovely photographs.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I picked up a copy of 'Nature Notes of an Edwardian Lady' at the weekend, which had 4 prints of some of Edith Holden's sketches tucked inside it, so they'll be framed and hung in due course.

    hi,

i have just finished one project, which was to be honest a desperation idea which has worked better than i thought it would.

needed to store all of my earrings (seem to collect them) so i got a smallish pinboard, painted it, and covered it in that nylon mesh stuff, and have hung my earrings onto it... (i though it would look awful but it's actually ok...)

but i will need a more permanant idea so any would be welcome... they do need to be hung as it stops tangles etc...

also am in need of more corks, does any one have any idea of where to get some, as my local pub wants to charge me for them??? seems quite tight to me as they just throw them away, and they want 50p each for them!!!! all of the wine i drink has thoses plastic ones in it...
