I have used the Craig and Rose 1829 Authentic Period Colours range Acryllic Eggshell (Swedish Blue)on my kitchen island unit and it is standing the test of time very well.In fact it still looks like new 18months later.Unlike the kitchen units themselves for which I used Kelly Hoppens acryllic eggshell which will need to be painted again soon!

I used the Craig and Rose 1829 Authentic Period Colours range Acryllic Eggshell on my dresser and today tried to scrape it with my fingernail [ in a not obvious place] and the paint did come off......therefore am worried about how it will stand up to the wear it will get on doors under a worksurface.

How did you prepare the surface?
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Well the unit was brand new and had no finish at all so I sanded it gave it a few coats of primer/undercoat in one and then a few coats of the eggshell.I know that paint doesn't adhere as well to already finished wood so maybe that's it? Do your kitchen cupboards have a finish on them already?

I love the mangle. Serious mangle envy going on here!! One day I will be the *very* proud owner of a mangle I'm sure!

Here's my bargain finds for today.

    Charity Shop buys -

I think this is adorable and it was only 50p.

And these were 9p for a pack of two!

A local card shop is having a closing down sale and these were all 50p each

I used to be able to get "cath" fabric samples free, still do, but they've now got "SAMPLE" stamped on them - and it doesn't wash off unfortunately.

I think a well known blog mentioned collecting samples and since then they've had the stamp on them

    Shame.
