Stas - Love the cupcake picture & I"m sure your friend will love it as well. You did a great job.

CTC - Did you make the christmas placements & were they very hard. They look great as do the quilts.

    ice- I'd box em in.

I can't see that the box won't be obvious to everyone coming in the front door. Perhaps it'll seem better in the morning.

If it's any consolation, people coming in will be looking straight ahead. You dont normally walk in a door and immediately look behind you to the left. Just make sure you stand in front of them on the way out....

In all seriousness, once they are boxed in and decorated to match the rest then they really wont be noticed - and thank goodness they are in a corner and so easy to box in and disguise. My friend just bought a house where the gas pipe goes up the stairs and looks like an extra handrail for little pixies, who on earth installs a gas fire on their landing?!
  • icandream in my old house i had a pipe that ran up the corner of the all in my dining room.. i painted teh walls in paint that you could use on walls and radiators and pipes it was a kinda 3 in one type paint i bought it from focus, it was their own make and youknow what you couldnt even see it.. and im a freak for noticing things like that.. and if you think about it . its going to be in a place were people wont even be looking..its not slap bang in the middle of the wall is it.. you'll be fine.. just paint over it and it wil blend in with your walls, and people will be to busy noticing your fantastic cupboards!

Thanks, guys. I got in very tired last night, and it did look awful, with it being by the front door, but yes, I guess nobody will come in looking straight to their left! :rotfl:
And the cupboards are certainly going to be eye-catching - can't wait to get started on those.
But isn't it odd where pipes have to go sometimes - I certainly wouldn't like it running up the stairs, so I guess I'll be thankful they haven't done that. More pipes going up today - probably best I'm at work! :rotfl:

well here they are ..i decided to do the other one that i had... which i have now screwed to one of the kitchen cupboard doors to pin my recipes on when i am cooking.. i have a very small narrow kitchen, so now the rinted recipes from mse will not get flour over them..lol..

the dual cork/memo board isnt quite finished.. i need to get diff wire as a hanger...
i was going to just paint them cream... but when i done this they looked ok, but still a bit bland..... so i went through my craft stuff and foundthe ribbon...( amongst a load of other ones) which i just used pva to glue it ot the painted wood... there is also enough ribbon to go aorund the edges of the corner unit, if i decide to use it..

the plain cork board was only a £ and the dual ones are in tesco now for £2 the nob that is on the door is just a temp one until i can find an old metal one, if not it will be painted the same colour as the door

again not shabby chic, more of country cottage chic

thanks...ye i am pleased, as my kitchen is small, i cant really do anything big, so little bits like the corkboards etc...just adds a personal touch...

i am now thining of painting a wooden spoon, and putting a few screw hooks along the handle to use to hang my t towels on...i was going to do this with the duel cork board, but i think i am going to have to use the hooks to put the pen on:rolleyes:

edit..... just noticed the pcitures look as though i got 2 diff colour paints on the doors...lol..... the colour od my kitchen cupboard doors and other doors is the bottom one..
