Hi everyone
Am really loving this thread - love your blog taurus, your home looks fab...wish I could get stuff from charity shops that cost that little, where I live a manky old stained tablecloth is up for sale for at least £5  . Wish I was brave enough to post pics of my home0 -
Blimey, just nipped in to catch up with the thread and there was loads to read and all those fab pics. Wow there are so many amazing homes out there and it just shows what can be done on a shoestring and a bit of creativity..... So keep it coming, all these fab posts.
I've been lucky enough to get a dresser on freecycle if the nice lady will keep if for me until I can collect on Friday so there will be more pics on my blog soon. Must admit been a bit slack with 1/2 term and all.

I was in Dunelm mill yesterday and they have lots of enamel things in several different colours and quite reasonable prices. They also have large textured throws. Their quilted spreads make me wonder why I continue to make them when I could buy a kingsize for £39.99, but then I do love patchwork!!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

Csarina I was in Dunelm Mill today. Boy I could spend a forune in there. I wanted to mention all the fab baskets they had reduced in the Chester store and some lovely lampshades. I bought a lovely natural wicker 'ball ' type pendant (ceiling ) shade for the spare bedroom for £4.99.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

You can afford Shabby Chic when you decide to change. You can find lots of these things in junk shops and car boot sales. My dresser is full of things that I haven't paid much money for and after reading Vintage Pleasure's post about crockery, I was looking on ebay for some of the things that I have and the same things are more expensive than I ever paid for mine, but still reasonable compared to buying new things. I wouldn't describe my home as shabby chic, don't know how I would describe it really, but I love it. I love the quality of some second hand (vintage) items as opposed to cheaper new things.
I've actually been thinking about this since i posted this morning and you're right - it doesn't need to be expensive. I'm thinking it will be easy to start in a small room like my bathroom which is tiny.
I've also realised I can ebay/car boot some of my old soft furnishings/ornaments/bric a brac etc to raise money to "shabby chic" my home :T:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
It's really lovely getting ideas from all these posts, I love the photos.
Vintage Pleasure, I think I am going to steal your idea of how to arrange pictures on the wall, it looks so artistic. Looking forward to seeing more photos of your lovely home on your blog.0 -
I've now started my blog after spending quite a lot of time working out how to do it. Have added a little on it but intend to add loads more as I get time. Not sure its exactly how I want it but at least its a start

This thread is so great for inspiration.I've had a sewing aftenoon and now have new tab top curtains in my kitchen.I've gone from rather muted coulours to vintage red accessories and have therefore chose red gingham fabric to make my curtains.I't rather bright now though, when the sun shone through it made the curtains look pink.I think I will have to live with them for a few days to get used to them.
If I don't like them I will just have to get more fabric and have another fun afternoonlost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013
