Shabby Chic Thread?

I've just had a quick browse through this thread and I love all the photos/links. There is nothing about my house that is shabby chic (it's more modern/contemporary) but I do really love the shabby chic style - I would have to start from scratch to create the look here.
I was actually drawn to this thread because there is a shop in my town called "Shabby Chic" and I'm always "window shopping" there. They have such pretty stuff (but unfortunately I can't afford most of it - even though the prices seem pretty good). They do have a website which I thought you might be interested in:

Thanks vivw and rosieben, Will give your tips a go. That loose slipcover looks good rosieben, my sofa shape is similar to that one in the instuctions and they advise using polycotton fabric, what my sheets are made of, someone one here uses dust sheets as well, willcheck those out as well. Lovely day here too, makes you want to do stuff. I've only pure white satin paint , could I mix anything in it to make it cream coloured to save money?”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

Mollymunchkin – love your plate rack and the plates too! :j
Kisto – you didn’t ought to have done it  I love that site, not sure I could actually walk past the door of their shop! I especially love the Gisela Graham stuff!

The Gisela Graham stuff is gorgeous, I also love the English Rose style too.
I'm a poor, skint, single mum on benefits so there is simply no way I could afford to shop in there (as much as I would love to) - hence I have to walk on by, dreaming! When I win the lottery......my home will be entirely shabby chic and my dd will have the bestest girly pink shabby chic bedroom (actually so would I)! I'm not sure that my ds would appreciate shabby chic though!:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
Blogger are good Vivw, I have a blog on there and it is free and easy to use, I even managed to customise the template myself.
They even have a help community where you can ask other people to help you and they are very kind.M.A.C.A.W member number 39
