:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:You may be right: still haven't got to the bottom yet!
Stas4949: love your bag. Well done! And what a find with the fabric. My local charity shops all say they rarely get fabric in, though they are happy to look out for it for me. Lucky you.
Cooltrikerchick: the dumbwaiter looks so gorgeous. And lovely picks from your stuff: I think I'm envious. Do you list stuff you find on ebay, or sell online at all?
thanks... cant wait for the wallpaper sample to come ...by the way does anyone know how long does the samples take to come from cath kidston?
ye i do sell on ebay and privately..... but due to mse rules i cant do any links etc....or promote the things i am selling.....Work to live= not live to work0 -
NEgirl we should have a day going round all the charity shops in the area to see if we can get some fabric....ill fight ya for it though!
Im excited though cause won some fat quarters off ebay and couple of them are brownish and they are big enough to make dog/cat out of Sew Pretty Homestyle book so gonna try that tomorrow!!0 -

I think that the car advert softies were inspired by things sold on etsy at the time.I'm not saying I inspired them but they were definitely very similar to the style that was going on at the time and peoples renewed enthusiasm in buying hand made.In fact Habitat even sold a range of soft toys that were very similar to some being sold on etsy I had already seen.Their researchers definitely surf the net looking for ideas in blogs etc.
Getting back to money saving shabby chic I had a great trip to the charity shops today.
I got a lovely vintage suitcase and umbrella, heaps of Pyrex, some embroidered cushion covers, stacks of vintage clothes patterns, vintage books, vintage hankies and napkins,a little costume doll (for my eldest),cake plate, vintage crocheted coasters and doilies and a vintage board game all for £6!
Then I went to the furniture section and got a gorgeous wall corner cupboard just right for chic-ing up and a little MDF bookcase ready to paint. Just £10 for the two.
I am one very happy bunny and will post photos when I have washed the plates etc!
It takes the edge off the disappointment that my daughter knocked over the little cupboard I painted up and shattered one of the panes of glass.Boo hoo.
Makes you wonder why anyone would pay full price for things, when you can get such bargains. You must have good shops where you live. I bet you had a great day.0 -
I want to put some fabric on the inside on my glass wardrobe doors (currently has net) would you do it taught or gathered, I can't quite make up my mind what would look better and obviously it would take less fabric to go taught.....any suggestions? Wish our charities had those prices they've gone wild wherever I go their prices, some of them are just ridiculous.
Sorry about your little cupboard.
Son't forget to post the pics of your today's finds.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

its VERY sturdy! I have around 9 of the mannequins now - most of them are the swirly metal ones from Au Natural (one is over 5ft - beautiful cream swirls) and out of them all i think this is the one i use the most for pics etcWin £2012 in 2012 challenge 0/2012
