Sink had sprung a leak. Foul smelling water all over the place. One large bag of rice, some potatoes, two sleeping bags and a few blankets and several boxes of washing products ruined....... To cap it all I lit a few joss sticks to disguise the smell and the Tesco delivery man accused me of being a drug addict ! Thank crunchie it's Friday!!!!!!! :beer:0 -

Poor you Myrtle.
I need some help from IceCream/Stas regarding the bag pattern. Now I've already given up on the Sewing for Dummies bag pattern so be aware I'm worse than a dummy. I have my squared paper all ready to transfer the pattern but confused regarding the handle bit. Across the base it's 17" plus 4.5" either side of the handle, so by my dummyish reckoning the handle should be 8" but it's showing as 3.5". Does that mean it tapers to the top?0 -
NEgirl, is your big dressmakers dummy in the photo from Next?
They sell one very like that, and I had looked longingly at it a few timesM.A.C.A.W member number 39

I'm so sorry, but :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
that's really tickled me. Poor you.
Now going to go and grab a cup of tea and sit and read thru the last three pages as there looks to be lots of fabulous pics. Yummy. Blimey, you lot have been busy today. All I've done is take the kids swimming and then bowling, as it's their last day off.

I think most charity shps are full of treasure you just have to develop a keen eye.Colours and textures tell you so much so I always scan the shop first.I can usually spot something I like within seconds of entering a shop and most of the time my adrenalin kicks in as I panic that someone will make it there before me!0 -
pmsl i bet its a deck chair underneath all the upholstery - its just the layers of fabric giving it its shape!! :rotfl: Im sure the girls dont mind you updating on here but im also here everyday if theres anything you want to pm and ask
Stas4949: love your bag. Well done! And what a find with the fabric. My local charity shops all say they rarely get fabric in, though they are happy to look out for it for me. Lucky you.
Cooltrikerchick: the dumbwaiter looks so gorgeous. And lovely picks from your stuff: I think I'm envious. Do you list stuff you find on ebay, or sell online at all?

I'm not sure what you mean as I didn't go by the measurements in the tutorial, I just drew my own with some newspaper and ruler.... I think looking at the tutorial it is meant to taper..... I just made it up as I went along:rotfl: I've never been good at following instructions!!!!
Hope this helps you.....0 -
