Hi...I posted a few pages back now, & a lot of you were very welcoming--Thank You for that:D But will you do me a huge favour & explain to me muvva why I need to spend so many hours scouring all the charity shops within a twenty mile radius:rotfl:

I am a tad ashamed to say that I saw some commercially produced & decorated storage boxes yesterday, the sort that come in all sizes? I was sorely tempted to get some of the larger round ones with a view to 'persuading' my lad to putting up shelves in my room & using them for my collection of wedding hats:p

That size was £8:99 & I would need at least three; plus shelving wide enough; plus something to cover the boxes to compliment my room........or re-decorate my room to compliment the boxes:rolleyes:

    This shabby-ing can get pricey!!!

I've been promising myself a trip to the charity shops close to where I work all week but never made it out of the office. After catching up on the thread today and seeing your wonderful finds I moved my backside up there. I only managed 2 of the shops though, the others will have to wait until tomorrow. The prices here seem more expensive than you all seem to pay but I guess it's still cheaper than buying new.

I managed to get a lovely picture frame, small set of painted drawers for jewellery and 2 really nice Victora Webster mugs depicting wine making scenes. Cost altogether £9.50. Whilst I was paying though I noticed the most gorgeous, antique looking biscuit barrel but it was £10. Fortunately I only had enough money to pay for the goods I bought otherwise I think I would have bought it. The other thing I spotted was a really lovely glass set consisting of a large bowl with smaller serving bowls. They are in the shape of strawberries with a pink trim. I noticed them a couple of weeks ago when they cost £10 but I notice today they've been reduced to £8. Again so sorely tempted.

I'll try and get the camera working so I can post my finds.

Oh well they are pretty anyway. The lesson is to buy more wine (and drink it):rotfl:

  • I got some charity bargains today, which I will post some photos of later.

I was just wondering what you all do for shoe storage? My husband used some wooden wine cases to make me up a set of shelves, but it won't house even 1/4 of my shoe collection:eek: and we will have to get through a lot of wine before we can create another set of shelves like it (oh and I will try and post a photo of it).

So any ideas for anything that is free standing?
Anyone fancy buying my degree? It will only cost you £18k.
