The iron on stuff is adhesive on both sides and very easy to use.You iron it onto the back of the fabric and then cut out whatever size shape you want. Then you remove the backing and iron it into position on the blind.
The brand I use is called Vilene.0 -

Well, I'm exhausted all of the time, but I'm also trapped in because of the kids. And the buzz I get from the small projects I do is incredible. And I find this thread really does motivate me. Take the chair...it was seriously in my thinking... that I'll do this in 5 years time... or never. But I'm itching to get going. The bag, seriously, took 2 hours last night, and I felt refreshed afterwards. Does that help? Pick something small for starters. I promise it'll be great fun - I did fabric hearts with the kids last week (well, a fabric boat with my son) and they all enjoyed it and they are decorating the kitchen cupboards now. (edited to say, not the kids decorating the cupboards, slave labour!, the hearts and boat!)
NE girl: that sounds sooooo scary. Would this work? The braiding at the edge I can't imagine getting loose. As it was so cheap, I'm kind of inclined to give it a go, but I'm very nervous.

I love the shabbiness of old things - but I know that if I brought some things home that I've seen my dear old dad would be moaning about woodworm and trying to rub the wood down to give it a nice coat of shiny gloss or orange stain!0

I am so pleased with it.I used Dulux non-drip satin in Full Moon as I had half a tin left from something else! I wanted a really shabby finish as that way I won't be bothered when my daughter isn't so gentle with it!So I really rubbed it back.
It's had a coat of Coloron liquid wax and I lined it with some Cath Kidston wallpaper we had left over. So all in all it cost me £8!!
P.S. I've scraped the windows since I took the photo too! I still have a few photos to post of my charity shop finds but I'll save them for tomorrow to keep the thread going!!
Looks really good, the wallpaper is lovely.0 -

Vintage Pleasure, you have done a great job, it is beautiful, I love it.
Oh I hope not, even though I don't add much to the thread, I love reading and seeing all the projects:D0 -

We have some very plain curtains - all we could afford when we left uni. I doubt we will be able to afford new ones for quite some time (well not the ones I have my eye on anyway) so I have jazzed them up by simply tying gingham ribbon around as a tie backs. I do plan to sew some on as a perm thing, but my sewing machine is on the blink.
When my husband melted the lid to this bottle (we were cleaning it to fill it full of home made lemon vodka) he wanted to throw it away. But I plonked this cheery sunflower in it to brighten up a dull spot.
I picked up these two pretty coasters for £2.50 the pair.
They are lovely, much nicer than the string I used to tie mine back until I was able to find tie backs that matched,
The coasters are just fab0 -

We attached a panel of vintage fabric across them.I was going to add some pink trim but never got around to it.
It's funny looking at that photo as the room has changed so much.It used to be our guest room and now it's my eldest's.She still has the curtains up but there is so much more in there!!
I am still drooling over that chest of drawers, are these the same as you have in your bedroom, that I first saw when we first "found" you;) through the Plump pudding blog0 -
Heres todays charity shop finds the table was £2.00 and the cups and saucers were 99p i am going to paint the table and put some pretty fabric or paper under the glass I collect spotty crockery so I had to have these
Isn't it amazing how the cups are not much cheaper than the table.0 -
