was just thinking how much easier binding would be if i could have one of those!! :D

Wow - I love that! Do you think it would fit any sewing machine, or only particular models (I have a machine, but have very basic knowledge of them!).

Vivw: I was hugely excited when I ordered my stuff, as it is a genuinely good deal. They arrived very quickly as well.

Cooltrikerchick: I'm with you there. I went into the Bicester bargain Cath Kidston shop and had to restrain myself so badly, but still ended up buying three metres of materials.

Loving all the pics: car boot/charity shop bargains are making me green with envy. Thanks for posting all the pics rose_sparky and Kisto and daisy_steiner.

These lined vintage curtains cost me £1. I love the design and will use the fabric to (hopefully) make tote bags.
I love these, and your idea for them. I've been trying to find a simple tote bag pattern, but failing. Could you point me in the right direction, if you've found one online, please.

I am sure I will deluge you all with more photos.

Is the Bicester Cath Kidston shop, the only bargain one? That is a bit far for me to go being in the North West, bargain or no bargain!
Anyone fancy buying my degree? It will only cost you £18k.

Thanks for the advice about the bunting - how big do you normally make the triangles or is it just an individual thing?

As far as I know: it's a way from me as well, but it's been on my mind to try and get there for some time and we were on holiday not too far from there last week  (:rotfl:). Was worth it though - fabric at £10 a metre. Oilcloth at £15. Just had to be careful I didn't go too mad.

NEGirl's site looks good, I googled tote bags + crafts + homemade or something like that and I've made up a little file with the print offs. If I see a nice design I print that off too so I can adapt it.

I actually cut out my first bag today from the remnant £1 fabric I used on my chairs and tables. It was a pattern I bought in America, handbags for DUMMIES. But oh I did laugh because I struggled - so not sure what that makes me! I got confused about how many pieces to cut out. I could have about 8 tote bags by the end of the week!

Glad you also liked the fabric above. I think it's crying out for some lilac gingham contrast so will keep a look out. I find buying curtains is the best way to increase my fabric collection.

That's exactly what I was trying to find but failing miserably. Why can I never find these things. All of those look fabulous. Thanks so much.

rose_sparky - you made me laugh with your pattern for DUMMIES: I googled 'Idiot's guide to blogging' tonight, much to the amusement of my 11 year old, again prompted to want to begin one by this thread and by the thought it may inspire me to finish my ever-expanding project list. It is actually very easy to start a blog, as even I can do it! Looks c*** though. :rotfl:
