Hiya, was just snooping at your lovely thread and saw the above post, hope the link to Jaycotts works - the binding feet are at the bottom of the page. They also do feet for specific machines if you click on the links at the top.
I have a binder like this for my Bernina but find it a bit of a faff to use to be honest although I don't have miles of binding to try and stitch on, I don't tend to 'do' household textiles unless I have to

Luxor4t - perhaps you could post a really really simple "idiots" guide to making a tote?!!

I tried writing the instructions, but the pictures do it better than words!
It gives you a good basic shopping bag to start with, then you can customise it when you are confident with the pattern. I made mine with longer handles so I can hang it from my shoulder as I need my hands for my stick.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I candream, you can customise your blogger template yourself, I've done it on my own blog and that of a friend - it's not difficult, but it can be fiddlyish (there are a lot of free graphics out there you can use)
Blogger have a great help group, you'll find a link on your sign in page, lots of people will help you there.
Failing that there are free blogger templates you can find out there, one of which you may like.
I customised these two from the basic pink template they offer you at signup:

http://mustardseedcrafts.blogspot.com/
Those look good (and advanced!)
I really am not confident but am keen to give it a go. Thanks - I'll take a look at the help forum.
Which was the pink template? I couldn't find a pink one (guess who looked:o!).
ps. meant to say: I like the customised bags on the mustardseed blog!

Oh I can't make up my mind which Housekeeper's boxes to get from Half Cost! I think I may get 2 - blue for downstairs and cream for upstairs.
Might get a pink one for my friend too...Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Clutterfree: be quick... they only have 19 in stock of the cream, and none of the pink (I'd wanted another pink, as I've found the three I've got so fabulous and a friend asked for one, but too late)

Hi
I think the pink one was called *thisaway rose* there was a green one the same too.. it is possible to go back and change the template you have requested and change your blog that way.
All the stuff in my blog, and the mustard seed one are really just tinkerings with the original template, eg changing the back ground image, the colour/thickness of the lines you already have, the header is just a case of making an image and insering it (you should have that option at the top of your layout).
There are lots of great widgets out there you can add to your blog, and lots of tutorials to take you through it.
One thing I would say is to copy your html template and always keep a copy of it somewhere on your comp (remember to update it as you make changes you are happy with), that means that if anything goes wrong you can always go back to a point where you were happy with it, a bit like the dated restore function on your computer.
It seems really hardf at first, but what I've done is really very basic as I did not alter the structure of the template, just changed it's appearance, and really it is quiyte easy, and I know you could do it too.. no worries, have faith!
My friend elaine makes the bags, she makes loads of other stuff by hand too, she is very clever.

Thanks Pipkin - I'm taking a look at it this afternoon, but it is scary when you begin! I've found how I play with the fonts etc (though this is frustratingly restricted to about 6 fonts, and I want a fancy looking heading). I'll get there, I'm sure.
How do I copy my html template? It sounds a good idea. Would you mind pm-ing me and putting it in easy-speak? x

You can make a heading (if you see mine, the bit that says raspberry grace) on your computer, like making a picture? I did it on ms paint using free graphic pictures I found on the net, and the fonts colours on my own comp, then you just add it to your blog on the layout part, by editing the title - you will see the title bit at the top of the layout page, and the option to edit - click on that, then it will give you an option to add an image (you can now upload the header you have made on your computer) - it will also give you the choice to place it behind the title and description (the header you have just now) or instead of the title and description, choose instead of and this will replace your exisitng header.
This is pretty much how I remember doing it, but please check first on google or the blogger help group.
The only thing I found tricky was getting the right size to fit the blog, but that is trial and error (always save your work along the way, and the elements you've made it from, then it's easy to go back and tweak the size).
Sorry, it sounds very complicated and I'm no good at explaining it simply, but it's not so hard in practice.
The HTML template (this is the basic template of your blog) you will find also on the layout page - look up and you will see a button, second row from the top to *edit html* - click that and it will take you to a page where you will see your template in a scrolling box - it will look like lots of gobbledygook - copy ALL of this (do not press cut!!!!) and then paste it into a word document (you should have microsoft word) and save it somewhere safe on your computer).M.A.C.A.W member number 39

Try this bag.... I'm a complete sewing novice and the first thing I made with my sewing machine was this bag....

I've made 4 now all together, 3 as presents and the last one I use everyday.... It's a really comfy bag to use. It was simple to make and looked really good when made. I just made a pattern out of newspaper.
When I sort out a flickr account I'll post a pic of my one its black cord on the outside with a lining of red strawberries on black background.... on the front I have made a strawberry motif using felt, beads and buttons..... I love it and everyone always comments on it......0
