Well this is the dresser I picked up from freecycle last week - it was stained a dark, almost ebony colour and I've spent the weekend "doing".....what do you think???

I'm quite pleased with it :D (ignore the miss mash of stuff on there - just to show size etc.)

It looks fab!! Weird coincidence I bought an almost identical dresser off ebay a couple of weeks ago! Mine has the exact same moldings on the top and drawers etc but mine is wider! It's a really dark oak and I'm planning on painting it to match my shabby chic kitchen! What kind of paint did you use becasue it looks brilliant! Well done you!

Thank you "vintage" I really like your colour scheme and style, especially the bedroom, as we are planning what to do with ours at the moment. You have shown that you can get an exquisite look without paying top prices.

You must have heaps of energy to fit in everything you do, especially with 4 children, who look delightful on your website. That's why I felt guilty making you answer all my nosey questions;)

    Regards

Oh you are all so clever. The dresser and kitchen units look lovely. Csarina love the kettle on the cooker, can i be nosey and ask if you know which pattern it is please. All the shabby chic rooms look so welcoming and comfortable, how a real home should look and feel.

These items are very cute ebaybaby. Do you find you sell enough to pay for your hobby? I've had such dismal results when I've tried selling something I've made!!:o It ends up costing me cash.

TBH moany....Ive only just started so only time will tell.I do find though that people dont really appreciate the work that goes into handmade stuff on ebay, so Im going to try Etsy as well.

Ive got "watchers" on my other bits and bobs though and Ive just sold a vintage kettle with roses on though to someone in Japan!
  • Thank god, I have just spent my two days off work decorating it!!

    A couple more pics

Hallway, I have these lights in almost every room, they are white metal with roses.

I got this mirror from the Devon County Show last year, it was £120 but as I walked out at closing time the guy sold it to me for £45 :) it is antique gold with porcelain flowers.

  • thanks for the piccies.. cant wait to see what your dining room looks like finished!!!

your light fittings are really pretty.. were did you get them from.. im looking for somthing like that for my bedroom !
  • Hiya and thank you :)

The white light fittings were from Matalan for £25 each, the brass ones were from a place called Trago Mills, they are based in the South West of England and cost £50.00 each, a bit pricey but classic so they were worth it.
  • What lovely piccies of your homes. Thanks so much everyone for posting.
