Photos of the kitchen, to take the sink I had to stand in the living room, and the wall units with my back against the sink.....see what I mean. The cooker is the lethal one with the handles on the grill tin that poke you in the eye when you bend over the cooker, its impossible to put a 3 tier steamer on because the grill is so low.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
csarina - lovely....................I love the throw on the sofa and those cushions.........................:j and the kitchen curtains..................:j
Oh dear................suddenly my throws on the sofa look a bit on the drab side......................lol I've got a load of scatter cushions on it (OH is constantly moaning about cushions.............lol)Mary

Actually the 'throw is a king size bedspread bought from M & S years ago when I had lolly to throw away!!!!!!!!!!! The cushions I made myself.
I must confess the reason the settee is covered up is because it is cream and mushroom. We have had it 12 years and its still in very good condition, it has a metal framed bed in the base and weighs a ton!!!
I bid for the wall unit from ebay, it was for sale in a village not far from us and collect only, I have waxed it a couple of times since we got it, so its coming up quite well. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
We got out from dunelm mills a few years back so not sure whether it was sold as a bedspread of throw...........got one for the sofa and couple for the armchairs. We've had the suite given us and its totally the wrong colour for our room but so comfy. Problem is always getting the throw to stay in the right place....................I have to adjust it and 'tidy it up' every morning (I blame OH..................lol)Mary

We have loose seat and back cushions, so I take the back cushions off, tuck the cover down the gap and then fold it over the front of the settee, replace the back cushions and throw the cover over the back of the settee, as you will see I also have a quilt across the back..........
We did have 2 small throws for the chaire, but they were a pain, so it has arn caps, to protect the arms from OH's sweaty hands, I use a couple of fleece blankets on it and again a quilt over the back.........
When we first bought the suite it was impossible to get throws, they were Not 'fashionable' now you can't move for the damn things..................I wash mine a couple of times a year............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Our sofa is against the wall so I try and tuck the back of the throw right down and wedge it in place but bit by bit it works its way over. Maybe if I had another throw (bit heavier one) over the back it might help do you think ?
The ones on the chairs are a pain when it comes to hoovering but they don't get sat on as much as the sofa so at least the throws stay in place.Mary

Its not just cosy its miniscule.....measures 7'8 long by 6'10 wide, so I can stand in one place and reach almost everything I need!!!!!!!!!!When we moved in, there were no wall cupboards, we had to get 4 fitted, I just did not have enough room for all my stuff.................and I had given away a load of things. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hello again Vintage pleasure, just one more question, I promise:o .
What colour paint do you use on your woodwork? doors skirting etc. :rotfl:
You can ask as many questions as you like!
We used Farrow and Ball paints. All the woodwork in the house is eggshell in Dimity. All the coving is estate emulsion in Dimity and ceilings are estate emulsion in Clunch. It adds continuity to use the same throughout and helps all the other colours gel together. The eggshell is very hardwearing.
The Manchester thing is interesting!0
