I used the International Paints magnetic chalkboard paint and it cost me a tenner and IS NOT magnetic at all!!!! I put about 7 coats on the doors as well but it's about as magnetic as my ar*e!!!

I bought the B&Q colours magnetic paint and found exactly the same. Bloomin' useless.

I wonder if I bought one of the magnetic notice boards from IKEA and primed it then painted it matt black it would act as a magnetic chalkboard? What do you think? I might try it.
We have covered one in vintage sticky fablon and it looks great but a blackboard one would be very handy. We could even make magnets out of vintage buttons.Ummm.....now where can I find the time?!
  • thanks for the tip rachellblondel.. my mum used to have two shower curtains one fabric one waterproof.. the only thing is im rubbish at making things so probably would make a mess of it myself..
i'll keep an eye out for some material though and hope that my mum could do somthing for me instead!!

Thanks to the great kindness of vintagepleasure I can now give the link to my pics. This is after spending three months doing up the house to sell it. I had many of the items but the house has been dolled up and the things placed for maximum effect.

Once again a very special thank you for vintagepleasure.

    So glad to help.
Flickr seems to be having a loopy day today so I can't see all your photos but don't worry they usually sort everything out quickly.

Love the decoupage chair - would never have guessed without the label, it looks etched or painted!
