    Happy Knitting everyone!

    Lovely polo shirt, Cuddles. :)

The Thumb Thing - fluffy knitting in your mouth... ugh! Should work!

With 3 children under three (now grown up!), I had 3 children with dummies for a while. Then... the Easter Bunny came along, took all the dummies and left tooth-rotting Easter Eggs in their place! :rotfl:

Still finishing my last couple of Christmas presents - for my long-suffering sister and her partner. The stormy weather has played havoc with my arthritis! Soon, be time to start again for next Christmas. Will I EVER get that Allegra sweater I promised myself? :(

  • Some lovely makes posted here.

I am unable to learn to knit (left handed, no one to teach me, can't even learn from youtube! Oh and can't crochet either!) and I wondered if anyone here used a knitting loom? Having looked at them on youtube I think I could possibly manage that!

If anyone uses them are they easy to use and can you make lots of things with them?

    Many thanks in advance.

I'm sure if you have a local knitting shop/group they would be able to help you if you really wanted to try.

I got bought a knitting loom for Christmas. Have yet to use it but going to have a look on the net and see if I can find out how to use it and then knit myself a cover for the kindle I got for my birthday.

Don't give up completely, there may be that one person out there who will just make it click for you. Otherwise you'll have to start getting your orders in with your DD :-)

It's very quiet here but hopefully someone will be along to offer me some advice - or alternatively, I will work it out for myself as happened last time when I typed it out on here - doh!! Anhow, I am making socks - first time of in the round......

Got to the heel & this is where I get stuck:

    Heel turn

We'll work a French heel here. To build the trapezium shaped heel, turn cont working on your heel flap sts as foll:
    Row 1: Sl1, K16, SSk, K1 & turn Leaving rem 12 sts on needle
    Row 2: Sl1 K, p3, p2tog, p1 & turn leaving rem 12 sts on needle
    Row 3: Sl1, k4, ssk, k1 & turn leaving rem 10 sts on needle
    Row 4: Sl1, p5, p2tog, p1 & turn leaving rem 10 sts on needle

cont in this manner working 1 extra st with each row until all sts have been worked ending with a wrong side row - 18 sts rem on heel turn

Done first 4 rows but can't work out what to do now!!

Just finished this for my Grandson

    2014-02-20195129_zps3e053a64.jpg

Interesting construction as I knitted in the round and the collar and fronts are all double and knitted as one.

  • I use a knitting loom a lot as I can crochet but never took to knitting. I got a sudden yen to make socks and it is fabulous for that but I have also made scarves. If you want a look, I am on Ravelry with the same user name as on MSE.
