I originally learnt to knit by my Mum when I was about 8 or 9. About 15 years later I started to knit for my little boy, guided by my MIL (bless her soul, she had the patience of a saint) Most of it since then has been self taught by experimentation. I never thought of looking for videos on t'web - it didn't exist back then. It all depends on your individual learning style though - I learn best by reading about and then experimenting. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I'm still plodding along trying to knit - so far I've mastered squares & scarves:rotfl: I managed to knit a hat for my baby using circular needles - though this did require a phone call to my Mum near the end when I got in a total pickle but she helped & we managed to finish it together
I've now purchased some dpn's so am trying to figure them out for the next hat
I've also decided that I want to knit a tank top for my son so will start looking for a pattern soon on ravelry

I hope this is the right place to post this - for anyone who is a keen knitter and can't find enough projects to work on! I support Dogs Trust and saw this advertised in their magazine:

Hope someone sees this and enjoys having a go.;)Life is mainly froth and bubble

Oh Bless him. The jumpers look super. Cuddly and warm. Our new grandson is now 3 months old. I'd love to be able to knit snuggly jumpers for him like this Cuddles. Well done

This is what I saw, but I didn't buy the pattern as it's all knitted flat and seamed. So I just made up my own, knitting the head in the round, decreasing, then doing a three needle bind off before starting the body. Picked up stitches to do icord legs and also picked up stitches and just fudged the ears.
PM me if you want more detailsJack of all trades ... Master of none

On clearing out cupboards I have come accross 4 Balls of Wendy Shimmer wool and 4 balls of Wendy Cosmic. I used these to knit scarves some years ago but cannot find patterns at all and was wondering if anyone had one and would be able to let me know details. If I remember correct I used both wools at the same time andd it only took a ball of each, but I have not idea how many stitches/kneedle sizes and how long etc.Jan Grocery challenge
