Your jumpers are lovely! I hope you don't mind me asking, how did you get the tractor on there?

I don't mind at all tryingtoruletheworld.

I would love to say that I knitted it on - did look at some charts - but I'm not good enough, so I bought the woven patches from Fenwicks and sewed them on :rotfl:

The tractor and fire engine buttons on the brown jumper, I think came from a craft fair.

Hi all I am a long time lurker on this thread and your all far more knowledgable than I am lol. I have bought some James C Brett Monsoon Wool which I fell in love with and want to make a scarf, nothing fancy with cable in it, but because the wool is classed as Aran I am struggling, would anyone have a suitable pattern or be able to recommend one for me, as I am desperate to get started on it.

You could use 5-6mm needles and knit a scarf in K2 P2 rib. If you cast on a number of stitches divisible by 4, and add 2 more stitches, the scarf will be reversible.

If you look on Ravelry, you can search for a free pattern, in Aran, (worsted, 10ply), and the number of grams you have.

Thanks, it looks fab, like one you'd see in the shops! I might have to look around and see what kind of woven patches I can find, I wouldn't have thought of using anything like that myself.

    Thank you.
Just had my daughter on the phone and she is thrilled with all three jumpers. She says that the best thing is that my grandson, who is nearly two, has things that are unique, and can pick out his own jumpers at nursery.:)

  • Hi there I'm after some help - I'm a beginner with knitting, so far all I can knit are squares & scarves :rotfl: however I really want to knit some baby leg warmers, my little one is not quite crawling, but my neighbours daughter is 8m & I thought I'd try & knit her a pair.

I've searched around for patterns but they all seem to be for knitting in round - which I can't do a) because I've never done it before & b) I only have straight needles lol can anyone give me a simple pattern to follow for knitting two piece & stitching together (or I guess one big piece & stitching into a tube)

    Many thanks Sarah xx
