Are we allowed to scan and make copies of patterns that are not free? Is that not breach of copyright?

    Just a thought.

Oh dear spirit, yes I have had that in the past, most recently when learning to crochet, or when using metallic yarns. No real remedy from me I'm afraid...just take a break from what you've been doing, or at least try not to grip the pins/hook so tightly. Sorry if this isn't very helpful! :o

Still knitting socks for DS1's GF, been sewing much more recently. Need to get the knitting out more often, as have loads to do for Xmas (sorry for mentioning this :xmastree:!).

It's a pain in the wotnot isn't it keiss! i've made 8 of those little baby baskets for charity. You have to use 2 strands of wool so it is more sturdy, i think this is why its happened, it's not sore, just numb!

i'll try some knitting again for a while. will post up some pics when I get home as they are rather sweet (if sad bearing in mind what they are for) would make good dolly cribs too.

  • Hi all I am a long time lurker on this thread and your all far more knowledgable than I am lol. I have bought some James C Brett Monsoon Wool which I fell in love with and want to make a scarf, nothing fancy with cable in it, but because the wool is classed as Aran I am struggling, would anyone have a suitable pattern or be able to recommend one for me, as I am desperate to get started on it.

Snuggle69 - There are lots of patterns on Ravley for cable patterns in aran weight, you will have to sign up to view them but it's a great resource.
