I see that several people sell knitted stuff on Etsy & Folksy - would really be interested to hear more.

Do you sell much ? Which do you think is best ? And any other experience that you can pass on.

    TIA

    Hi Jude,

I sell on folksy and etsy it can take a time to get your first sale, you need to advertise well and spend time on the forums to get your self known.

also good to link your facebook page to your account and then advertise on selling pages in yoru area which also advertises your folksy account.

It has been slow and you need to identify something that is unique as there are a lot of people selling the same type of thing.

Items need to be precise and you have to ensure your account meets all the distance selling regs etc.

After a very slow start now have regular sales, getting better all the time.

I also sell on ebay and to be honest that is the better avenue. although the fees are higher.

Was there anything specific you wanted to know?

    Hi,
I sell on etsy, and would echo teeni's advice. I too was slow to start but am steady now, making a small income which pays for my many hobbies, and my social life. Occasionally sell on ebay and although things go more quickly I find that prices are lower. I have a folksy page but have never amassed enough inventory to list anything! Etsy is a relatively inexpensive way to begin selling - why not give it a try?

    Hi Teeni & Westcoastscot

Thank you both for replying so quickly and for so much info.

Although I've sold bits and pieces on ebay over the years, I've never had much success with knitted items.

Will definitely start accumulating some stock - have been mainly doing charity stuff recently - and maybe try Etsy.

    No problem

But be aware that there is a mistake in the pattern.
All wrong side rows should read AS ROW 1, not as row 2 as the pattern states.

    Good luck!
